Going together fine until I got to the rear engine mount.
When I dismantled this to make subframe lifting with a jack easier the plate fell out and banged me on the head! When came to putting it back on I found there was no backnut. Found it inside the sub frame. No problem I thought. The mount reassembles fine but the backnut isn't captive so there is nothing to stop it rotating or being pushed out when putting the bolt in. I can see the tide mark on the metal, but there are no weld marks etc?
I hope someone can say if there is anything missing!!!

Hi, I know this thread is a few years old now but has been very helpful. I've got the gearbox out of my Stilo jtd and need to replace the rear main oil seal.
Without sounding thick, do the flywheel bolts undo as per the norm (anti clockwise) or do they undo clockwise as per other manufacture's?
Rather get the answer now than struggle trying to do them up tighter!!!!

They are normal right hand thread bolts so they undo anti clockwise. The bolts have a combined thread lock and sealant on them. The sealant is to prevent engine oil leaking through the bolt threads into the gearbox bell housing.

The rear engine oil seal should be supplied with a plastic ring to assist fitting the seal over the crankshaft without damaging it.
.

Thank you, it's been a pig of a job removing the box on the drive so I'm expecting the flywheel not to disappoint!!!
I miss the comfort of a nice big garage ramp!!!!
