General Rear wiper stopped working 2010 dynamic

Hi all.

My Fiat panda dynamic 2010 model pandas rear wiper has stopped working. It's stuck in the middle of the rear window screen now.

What could be the cause and how do I fix it? Also how much?

What do you charge yourself an hour..?

Probably a rusty spindle.. but could be electrical

Are you capable of some diagnosis??

In my experience fuse will be fine


Rusty spindle making it too stiff for the motor is most common..

Before ANY spannering,check if the numberplate lights work

Trying to rule out a broken loom..or lost earth

Ignition on
Any noise when you try and activate the rear wiper

We need to try and diagnose if it's a mechanical fault or electrical fault first

The fuse is F52 it's well buried on the body computer

As far as I know F52 only affects the rear wiper

Lots of things share the same earth's, check all rear hatch electrials are working is also a good start

If it's a earth problem you can normally kick-start the rear wiper by putting on the reversing light, fog light or front wipers at the same time.

My left rear light earth fault (caused by the connecter behind the light) used the wiper to do strange things. There is no obvious interconnection but there you are. Wiper stopped working in mid travel - check the motor is not seized and check the fuse.

Hi guys just checked and it's the motors packed in.

I want to just remove the back wiper because you don't legally need it.

How do I remove it?

I have to ask..

How do you know its 'the motor'.. if its still fixed to the tailgate


The motor is tiny..

Cannot turn a stiff mechanism

"Don't legaly need it" I'm not to sure about that as in if it's fitted as standard it should be working MOT wise .Although I could be wrong. But if you are correct and it doesn't need to be, why don't you just leave it in situ and forget about it

I believe..
'If its fitted it must work'

Removal may be an option

All my wiper failures have been related to mechanical resistance..
Clean up corroded parts and it works again

First job. Bash it. Rubber hammer or similar.
These cars need a rear wiper. Get a new motor from a breakers. Probably €15. Fitting is straight forward. Follow your nose. Lubricate the spindle with a waterproof grease.
Cleaning things, as stated above usually works wonders.
