I sold a s/h power steering motor on ebay a couple of weeks ago. Listed as working but no returns.

it was sent off etc, then i got a message this time last week: "Sorry to trouble you but I just had the motor fitted and the garage say it is faulty as the red light came on.will you exchange or refund?"

I replied with: "no sorry. As i said in the listings, no returns
or guarentees.

BUT.... i know a thing or two about mk2's (even
if i say it myself)
If it was JUST the motor that had went before
(not the ecu or torque sensors in the column)
then it should work. Does the steering work in
spite of the light? All you should need is a trip
to FIAT to have the ecu reset (cant remember the
proper term for this)
The motor was definitely working when it was took
out with no light on the dash, and its very
unlikely it was damaged in transit.
I suggest if the above doesnt work, you should
visit fiatforum.com or puntomk2.co.uk to find out
more (i am a member on there)

regards"

Now i have heard nothing since from the buyer. Its a pest cos theres £80 tied up in pending paypal funds that i could do with.

Now, the question is: what's he up to? can he wait 2 weeks then just TAKE the money back? or is there a dispute opened up where i get to share my side of the argument? Im just scared that with ebay being the sh!t place it is now, as the buyer he can completely take advantage of me :(

yeah, thats what i was thinking. Sounds like it was an independant one.

Anyways, surely he would have got back to me again if he could have? Maybe im being unjust and he's just incapacitated in some way at the present.

So if he wanted his money back, he would definitely have to argue his case with me in a forum or something like that?

you will be notifed of a paypal dispute if one is opened, and after considering their claim you can make a response. if an agreement can not be made paypal will decide the outcome. paypal rules are very simple, so forming a response that will win is fairly easy. if they start a dispute its time to read the info on paypal.co.uk carefully.
