Question about boot build

Hey so im posting for a friend who has made his own boot build for his subs, but the sealant between the different pieces of wood has broke and left small gaps :bang:

Is this likely to cause the quality of sound to drop and could someone suggest a more suitable sealant please ?

Pretty obviously yes. If its fallen apart, its not a box any more. Gun applied acrylic "no more nails" might fill the gaps. But it didnt fall apart for nothing.

Cut and shape the wood properly and use a good quality PVA adhesive with thin shank chipboard nails.

It hasnt fallen apart just certain pieces have cracked apart, thanks for the advice ill tell the bodger haha

Sounds badly built tbh. It has been screwed together yeah? If the sealant is cracking that suggests that there is next to no structural integrity reducing it's efficiency by around 1/3 at least IMO.
