Hey guys, rather peed off punto driver here, just been towed home! Would seem my clutch cable has snapped, although saying that I wouldnt know if it was whole clutch or just the cable anyway.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to fix? Or am i better off ditching it. Its an old M reg only paid £500 for it in the first place.

Any answers would be fab, cheers guys!

Failing clutch cable is normally a sign of the clutch itself being on the way out. If it's anything like the prices for the Cinq/Sei (they all use basically the same engine) the cable will be about £15 and the clutch kit (including pressure plate and release bearing) is about £70-80. Fitting is a pretty simple DIY job if you have the right tools, shouldn't take a trained mechanic more than a couple of hours so you can work out for yourself if a garage is quoting the right amount for parts + labour :)
