They've clarified the law in recent years, I read a few times when I was a young boy racer that tinting the rear is illegal.

I've searched the VOSA site and the only thing I can find about window tinting is what was in the VOSA link I posted.

another good point the vosa thing states is that tinting companies arent allowed to tint a car which may invalidate it "legalness"

I need to get my fronts done and also the windscreen as well i know my rights and know a few traffic cops so they have told me how dark i can go so a light smoke should be sufficient on the front

so they are highly illegal then

if it was illegal to tint the rear screen then companies wouldnt do it as they would get in to trouble and face prosecution if one of their customers got pulled and gave the shop name where they had it done

For the record folks, the words I used where "I believe it is illegal" for rear tints, not "it's illegal". So stop being so petty.
