Here's todays progress. I've told him to slow down, I've still got the garage to paint and tidy up! At this rate he'll be finished by next week

Old English WhiteFactory code BLWT3 - Dupont code 8207 - Ditzler code 8177 1963-67

Its a perfect example of the classic colour!

Is that an original/official 500 colour? I brought mine as repainted Old English White and wondered if it was a true FIAT colour or just one the previous owner fancied.

1969 FIAT 110F (Berlina 500)

The code Andrew quotes is a British Leyland colour. Mine is being painted Fiat 249 Bianco Banchina. Not an original 500 colour but an old Fiat one. Yours looks like Fiat 234 Antique Ivory but might be wrong

Colour? Colour???.........I see no colour at all...just white , white , white , white and white. I have gone snowblind from seeing too many Fiat 500s. Ahhhh :D:D:D

PS. The car's looking very smart.

My wife, who is an art teacher, will tell you that white is a colour Peter. Hard to capture in a photo but the rear grill was lovely, much better than the original polar white. Going to see it on Friday, can't wait

I know you're right Damian and I'm only (half) joking, I must see things very black and white:D....here's colour.....

Looks great. I'm going to see if my local paint shop can look that colour up. It's very close to what mine had under all that yellow.

I'll know more tomorrow but if the rear grill is anything to go by the colour is spot on. If you need specific codes let me know

Ooh looking good Damian. You must be getting excited now. The best bit is still to come, putting it back together with nice new shiny bits. Its a bit like doing a big Airfix model, the added bonus being you can actually drive it!:D

Can not wait. So excited. If it looks as good as it does in my head I think I might cry. And then as you say the fun starts with putting shiny bits back on

Visited the paint shop today just as he had finished flatting back the shell. It looks better than I had hoped. I know exactly where all the repairs are but could not see a thing. The panels and doors are spot on and he still has to polish them yet! Scheduled delivery is 1 week today and then the fun begins

Getting the garage painted and sorted before the arrival on Friday. Didn't realise just how anal I am until today!

That is not being anal Damian, just well organised. I had to do the same with the engine that went into my canal-boat (basically because the factory never wrote a workshop manual). If you aren't organised you end up in a real bugger's muddle--well done.

I'm just trying to sort my garage out in preparation for the D resto! I've realised how much stuff I have. Need to throw out so much to get tidy. Not your kind of tidy though. That's just to clean to do anything in.
Mind you, your probably not going to do another one after this one.

Paolo's newly decorated home is waiting for him. Doors and panels came today and they look the business! Sorry for the sad photos below
