Got another good chunk done today, so happy with that, but pissed off that i just haven't been able to make up the time lost waiting for that cam gasket, so i'm 100% out of SICD.

On top of that, i'm still waiting on parts again, which have met the hands of ****ing fedex. and a bank holiday now (****ing again!!!!!!!)... so yeah, that time lost was the fatal blow, now i'm stuck waiting on parts again, hey ho, guess the rush is off (sort of, i need the garage space)

anyway. today, got suspension finished, brakes finished, rear end is practically built, bumper on, lights on. Front end done all the lower wiring, final bits of coolant hoses, clips etc, fitted lambda and crank sensor.

Basically, what is roughly left to do

- torque up hub nut
- Fit one bolt to Anti-roll bar bracket
- secure inlet manifold(what size nuts? nothing fits, everything is too big, apart from those that are too small, grrr)
- fill with coolant
- plug in rest of loom and leads etc
- fit pipe to fuel feed
- plug in code box
- fit induction
- start it up

really did get that close, so yeah a bitty gutted, but not as gutted as i'd have been if the only reason i was missing out was Fedex not delivering the current parcel i need, at least i still have some small jobs still to tick off.

Bugger, sorry to hear the cinq won't be at SICD.

BUT, it can still make the west coast rally and it's great to see it in better nick than it has been in a long time

Resumed project today, nothing major done, mostly testing and fault finding however i've had it turning over in the starter motor (deliberately, fuel system and spark disconnected etc, just a wiring test)

Code light not going off is a concern but could equally just need playing with at the barrel or an earth sorted as they were just placed onto various bolts in the bay.

first signs of life though :D

Rear end is now complete, engine and drivetrain are also complete, all fluids are in.

Had a few tiny coolant leaks and one hooring one from the thermostat, but that's fixed and the other 2 seem sorted with some adjusting of hose clamps.

Also spotted the alt belt not sitting flush, so fixed that.

Most to do is electrical.

The loom is in place, earths all cleaned and bolted down, basically i need to extend a few wires to the map sensor and to the fuel rail.

The only non electrical things to do are mostly fuel related, like fitting the new pump and the fuel feed to the inlet. Non fluid wise, basically it's torquing one hub nut and a arb bracket bolt, fitting new throttle cable bracket, then front bumper and wheels... providing the electrics work

nah, more like infuriated. Hit more problems today, immobiliser is indeed being a cnut. depsite all the systems being from the same car, it's decided not to work and the code light won't go off. Have a feeling it's still an earthing issue although every earth is down, so i'll need to trace what wire comes off it, have it down to 2 potential wires though, so shouldn't take long to trace. Either black from teh code box itself (earth) or grey/green connection (ok signal).

Everything else bar that seems to be ok electrical wise that i can see.

In other news, i need a new passenger side front wing because this is my one.... ermmmm

Thankfully the rest of the car is rock solid and that's just a piece of aftermarket tat.
