Had a trawl through the threads and can't find anything on this. Sony Erikson W580i. Paired up easily and works very well with the car. The problem I am having is that sometimes when I have been in the car the phone throws a wobbler and I find that when I am out of the car all calls either in or out have no volume. I can't hear caller and they can't hear me. The phone goes through the motions if I try to dial out and all other functions work. It isn't anything to do with the volume settings on the phone. It is as if the phone is still linked into the car system and expecting to use the cars speakers. Only way I have found to remedy this is to switch the phone off and on again. Anyone else experiencing this and is there anyway to avoid it? Is there a way to make sure the phone disconnects from the car system when I get out??

i have same problem its an issue with the phone my erricson does the same, only fix is to turn your phone on and off, the phone has the same problem if you walked away from any bluetooth device without telling the phone to disconnect first, you can tell when it still thinks its connected on mine because it still has the head phones symbol at the top

Ive had the same problems with my sony ericsson w580i and w960i. Apart from turning the phones on and off i found that if you turn the car off you must sit in it for about 10 seconds so that the phone can realise the bluetooth is disconnected and work normally. This is a pain if you get out instantly like most people do though!

Mine has the rather more annoying habit of just ending calls through the car speakers randomly in the middle of conversations while im driving, with no way of retrieving the call through the phone. Have to wait 20 mins until im finished driving and ring the person back to apologise!

Thanks. At least it isn't just me then. I have discovered the same thing. Sit in the car for 10-15 secs and the phone beeps to indicate it has disconnected, then I can get out. Bit of a pain but easier than switching on and off all the time.

The range of Bluetooth is probably the problem. They quote 10m but that is free field with no obstructions such as doors, windows, bodywork etc.
