Hi all.
This is my first posting so hi to everyone and what a great forum you have.

I have a 2000 8v Punto and like many others, the power steering went.
I followed the fantastic guide on here to resolder the motor PCB etc and this worked a treat for about 2 months, but now it has gone again.
I have noticed some second hand motors for sale, but most motors for sale come with the ECU.
My question is can I get away with buying just the motor as I am pretty sure thats where the problem lies? If I do have to buy the ECU is there anything I should know?

Cheers
Andi

ive replaced just motors seeing as ecu is a pain to get out but ideally i would change both
remember motors are sometimes sold because they are faulty
choose wisely glass hopper

usually they are sold in pairs, but have seen people just swapping motors too!

If you get an ecu too, make sure you fault code it before to find out why it was removed? since the coloumns fail on torque sensors, i cant see why you couldnt nick the motor and ecu from them (clear the code)
