General Panda Easy TwinAir

Just (today) became the newest owner of a 50,000km 2015 Panda twin.

So far it's been fantastic.

More than enough power for my 88km round-trip commute on the rural back roads of our sleepy NZ province.

It's going to be a big change from my Subaru Outback.

Anything to note?

Use the correct oil !!

Watch out for oil consumption too.

Make sure you can open rear doors from inside car

Congrats on the new car, you ought to get some pictures up!

The Twinair is surprisingly nippy, careful of the lower rev limiter in 1st and 2nd gear though, not sure on the gearing of the Panda but if its as short as my Punto's it's very easy to slam into if pulling out fast!

Panda is only 5speed.. but gearing in 5th :top is similar

TBH Ive not noticed the limiter the same.. but Im pretty sure the mapping is a little different.

Well I'd hope nobodies hitting limiter in top gear

5spd I assume has slightly longer gears but one less than a Punto. The limiter is between 5000-5500 in 1st, surprisingly easy to bump into on a swift set-off. Not helped by the short gears on the 6spd.

If there were any gear to hit 5000rpm in wouldn't it be 1st? Being the shortest and 'fastest' gear. I haven't confirmed as its only happened a handful of times over the last 5000 odd miles but I'm pretty sure in the 6spd Punto that comes in under 20mph so very easy to do.

TA very quiet in top gear in either guise. Not stressed at all. Best used on A roads and motorways.

Dont forget to get your compensation if you were accidentally supplied an 85HP after paying for a 90HP! Fiat customer services know of this issue that appears to affect about 1500 customers..

two and a bit years later, the wife had a discussion with a tractor and lost.

I was on the phone about an hour later looking for a new one.

drama and more drama later, I have a nice low-miles one with alloys, electric mirrors and lots of service history.

She was bruised by the seat belt and her glasses banged into her nose with the airbag, but other than that, just shaken.

The tow-truck driver said if she was in a Japanese or Korean micro the damage would have been much worse - he was impressed by how together the chassis was - they could open all the doors, without having to resort to force.

She was doing around 100km/h when he turned into her.
