General  Panda 4x4

I think it looks awful and the panda 4x4 or trekking I think look much better (mind you a white up went past me today and it looks even more like an upright washing machine than ever).

It would -- every time I looked at it -- make me very cross indeed.... They've taken an ugly car... and made it uglier.... The VW Ug. (n)

But the Up! Cross is just a bog-standard Up! with a body-kit (Tarted Up!?), like the Polo Cross. No 4wd version, not even a locking differential al la Trekking. All show and no go. Total waste of time. A Balls Up!

Have bought the new Panda 4x4 diesel. Love it. But have a problem with teh clutch pedal. It does not always return after depression. Local dealer will look at it next week but I wondered if anyone else had this problem?

I had this issue on ours (a regular Panda 1.2 Easy), it happened a few times before the clutch switch broke off. It's only a small little component with a purple coating, you might want to have a quick peek and see if you can spot it as it might be interfering with the travel of the pedal.

Had mine fixed under warranty and the dealer also checked the pedal mechanism thoroughly as well.

If your clutch switch does break off/fail, the car will still be OK to drive, just a little more juddery when pulling away. One benefit though was that it stopped those crappy gear shift indicators working - at least for a while anyway!

Well I know there's been talk of the VW up cross and the panda 4x4 well looking at the latest info they've released

What an utter waste of time that is. I thought it was going to be a genuine rival to the Panda Trekking & 4x4, but it's just a normal Up! with added body cladding. I was always quite fond of the old Polo Dune, which had all that Rover Streetwise-esque cladding on it, but that Up! is minging. VW should stick to dull but competent Golfs & Passats & leave the character cars to companies like Fiat.

No doubt Auto Express will do a test between it & the Panda & say the Up! is the better one, even though it has zero off-road ability, but Fiat must be pleased it's not the genuine rival that (as far as i know) it was rumoured to be. Gimme a Trekking over that anyday.

Popped into my dealer earlier. My car order is now "fixed" and it's looking like mid March for delivery. Great.

My buddy Marc said they've now sold ten 4x4's

Great news :) I guess our cars will arrive within about a week of each other. My dealer has sold the green diesel they had, not sure how many 4x4s in total but they'd sold 4 including mine by beginning of Jan.

I was surprised to read vauxhall have taken 4000 orders for the new Adam already which having seen it at work for the press photo shoot looks well put together but reading the reviews of its ride/engine/gearbox would put me off.

I'm happy though if our 4x4 pandas stay exclusive :)

I must ring the dealer to find how mine is coming along - I wonder how long it takes to go from sheet steel to rolling off the line? Or to ask another question - when does your order actually get loaded up and do robots take the orders or is it handled by Robertos to simply finalise which options to plug in?

Still can't wait :) and shall deeply miss out current 4x4...

Happy days:

According to the dealer, my Panda is due to be built in the next few days
:):):)

Looking like a 1.3.13 delivery to me...(y)

PS anyone got any ideas for a cheap FIAT / Panda relevant private plate. With the emphasis being on cheap!

Bad news today, email from the dealers to say my car is back to light variable, week 13 build :-( it was fixed at week 7 so I thought it'd been built.

I guess it's my city brake option which is causing a delay.

Flaming hell! Bad news.
How it can go from fixed back to variable is just stupid.
Your city brake theory is probably right I'd guess.

Hmm, wonder where that leaves my one as that too has been ordered with City Brake...

Am new to this site and (hopefully) about to buy a 4x4 if I can decide on a colour and engine! lol
So far I am swinging towards the TA in cancan red with sand/charcoal trim or active grey with grey/pumpkin trim...........
Any thoughts. Problem is my dealer have no cars in either colour and not even a brochure yet.
I would have white, but it a horrible 'van' white, I much prefer the softer white of the 500........... ho hum

Reg-Transfers have PA51 NDA available at £995, although there is also an "offers" button, so perhaps you could make a rude cash offer and see if the owner bites.

They also seem to have quite a few pre-2001 plates with round or repeating numbers (eg 200, 222, 300, 400, 444 etc) ending in PAN for £189.

At last ! A full (back) page advert for the panda 4x4 in the i newspaper.

I've noticed a full page advert in City A.M. as well:

"EAT MUD CHELSEA TRACTORS"

:)

Driving into work this morning I went past a fiat transporter with a dark blue and silver 4x4 panda at the front. This was on the m62 outsid manchester so id expect they may end up at the Bury dealer. Both looked good.

I saw an orange trekking on the front of a transporter a week ago going in the opposite direction and that looks good too but I've not seen one up close only the photos other members helpfully posted or what I've seen online.

I was going for silver originally but thought it just was a bit too sensible.

I actually think the beige colour looks better than the white which I agree is a bit too van like.

If I have time I'm tempted to drive and look at the orange trekking in the midlands just to see it in the flesh.

i agree grey is a bit sensible, but it does look cool, especially if I spec the dark tint windows. besides the pumpkin trip will liven it up a bit??
or red................. aaaggghhh

Today I am Panda free :(

My Mk3 4x4 car has gone to its new owner, who seems very happy with it.

Not sure how i'll cope until the new one arrives...

...I know, a drink will help:)
