Ive experienced alot of these bits of road that have large parts of the main surface missing aswell, possibly not as damaging but sounds horrid to drive over.
The potholes seem to be appearing all over the carriageway now though. In the past i remember them mostly being towards the edge of the road so you could at least avoid them. Now i end up in the path of oncoming traffic if i try and swerve round some
I agree about bikers - i'm amazed no bikers have been killed by it. The problem shouldve been resolved before bikes started using the road for summer.
Totally true, the councils obviously can't deal with it. I think in part it's because there's probably so much beuracracy (sp) involved in authorising each bit of work, rather than any lack of machinery or staff.
There's abit of road by us with a reduced speed limit due to 'uneven road'. It made me similarly annoyed to the 'queues likely' signs - if they know the roads uneven or a queue is likely, do something about it!
As has been said elsewhere though, they simply don't put enough money back into the roads. Thats the main reason that's putting me off voting Lib Dem - they want to cut the roads budget even further
We'd be back to dirt tracks if they spend much less.
