ever since my bike has been off the road i've been driving my car quite a bit faster, taking it to higher revs etc.

a week or so after doing this i've noticed the car (1.2 8v punto) has been going quite a bit faster :D

times the 0-60 to exactly 12 seconds which is 1.8 seconds under factory according to parkers but i do have an induction kit on, obviously it isnt an accurate time..

can anyone explain this??

I have a one 1.1 punto 55s and the phrase "Drive it like you stole it" has to be applied to make it go anywhere. Play fast bouncey music "Darude - Snadstorm" for example and drive at 30mph, then turn it off and stay at the same speed, it seems a lot slower with no music.

As mentioned above its all in your head:nutter:

i dont really under stand all this anyway? eg.

people with punto sportings say they can just about beat the standard time, getting 10.2 etc seconds 0-60, then people with 8v's come and say they have beaten the standard time, and also beaten what people can get sportings to go  and get 10 seconds 0-60- does this mean the 8vs quicker than the 16v?

0-60 times are normally mearused by car makers under exact conditions, eg calibrated speeds and calibrated timing equipment, As it is legal to have your speedo working to within 10%, this mean that you could actually be timing any where from 0-54 to 0-66 hence time differences.

I remember reading an magazine about the 0-60 time when ford did it on the escort cosworth and they blew 3 engines trying to rake the best time possible, this would suggest they go for best figures possible, BUT we all know a loosened engine work better thn a new unit.

I never timed my car but i know for a fact on a damp morning it is quicker than a blazing afternoon...!!!

yeh it's true what you say about the speedo differences.

and about your car going faster in the cold, is that something to do with petrol expanding in the heat?
