Daughter came home yesterday afternoon complaining her
Panda had a funny noise. And it did sound pretty bad as she pulled up outside.
Its a 55 plate 1.1 Active, only done 29k. We bought it a year ago with 19k on it.
Looking around under the bonnet the sound seems to be coming from the bottom pulley, and it looks like its vibrating, or oscillating.
I've had a search around here and other places on the net, but can't find any common faults regarding the bottom pulleys!! They do come up as a replacement item costing anything from about £40 to over £100, which suggests they are a 'service item' as such. I'm guessing there's some kind of damper built into them, a bit like dual mass flywheels??
Can anyone shed some light on it please? Are they known to fail?
Cheers
