Anyone know if the 500 was developed with Ford or if Fiat just sold it to them?

both are pandas with fancy frocks on, all are made on the same line in poland, economies of scale, parts transfer etc etc etc
it was a joint project from the very beginning. the ka has only been released later than the 500 to help fiat out, but development of both models started and ended at the same time with both fiat and ford involved equally.
I've told you before it's not a frock it's body armour, hence the NCAP scores. Besides Fiat would want 2 cars as ugly as the Panda in the showrooms would they?
Good enough bite?
yeah they were both developed on the panda platform, but thats only half the job of making a car. i admit its the most expensive and time consuming part, but you can have very different cars all built on the same platform. for example the tipo platform gave us the bravo brava marea coupe 145 146 155 156 gtv (and more i've forgotten). you cant say a 156 is the same car as a coupe, or the gtv is the same car as the bravo.Development began with the Panda. Both these cars were designed after Fiat had done the hard work.
pure pedigree fella, not some mongrel frankenstein.......

Is it me or are 500's as common as muck now?
The more I see 500s the less I like the rear 3/4 view nose is good if as camp as the accomodation at glastonbury the back on the other hand reminds me not a single bit of a 500 but then again maybe thats cos theres not an engine hanging out of it.
Not proper '500'. Same way that BMW excuse for a small car slightly resembled the Mini.
