oh the choice ! Multijet2 or a turbo 2 cyclinder. I want POWER and economy

Jake, this is one of those rare cases whereby you can have everything (if you can believe the hype, and I DO). The twin cylinder turbo with multiair will have more power than the 1.4, better fuel consumption than the 1.3MJT, loads of torque low down and no road fund tax to pay as it has emissions below 100.

It's what I'm waiting for anyway. In a tiny car giving 80+ mpg. That way if (when) fuel hits £10/gallon in a year or two it'll still be the equivalent of 40mpg today, which isn't too bad at all.

Actually the 500 Multijet2 itself gives over 80mpg out of town so it's a great little car.

Any mention of new Abarth engines?

They'll get the Multiair too. The Abarth for the US is stated to get it - in something like 2012 if I remember right - but it will come to Europe before then. Just as soon as they can crank up production I suppose.
