I am still seriously considering selling up the Alfa and getting something that doesn't cost a fortune keep on the road :(

I have been looking for weeks for something small, fast, good looking and not a killer on insurance.

I have been quoted roughly £2200 to insure a 2.0 16v Clio sport and £2500 for a Civic Type-R!! (fully comp with 2 years NCB)

Insurance is just backwards and retarded!

So now I am trying to think of anything that is worth looking at, I was even looking at a Dodge Caliber earlier until I realised that the inside looks cheaper than a Thai hooker :(

So the budget is roughly £8000 at most and I am looking for something that looks amazing, not slow and something that wont will double the budget again on insurance :(

i know they are not to everyones taste but i do love the smart roadster :)

you can get a brabus version for around 6000 which is the 100hp version and can have it remapped to 120hp giving you a tiny 800kg car with 150ish per tonne :D and its super cheap with around 55mpg and 90 a year road tax :D

I am not a huge fan of the roadster my self :( the 500 would be alright if its 0-60 was below 10 seconds I think.

I have got the car booked in on Tuesday to have the caliper taken apart and cleaned up, if that doesn't cure the problem I REALLY want to say I will sell it but every time I get in the drivers seat I fall in love all over again lol

Nice first post :D haha

GTI would kill me on insurance though, its group 15 :(

dont mean to be cheeky but you do know the bravo is actually faster than the punto abarth right ?? and then with the remap it would kill the abarth on the plus its 2 group less on insurance and its 10-15 mpg more and £50 a year less in road tax :)

Wasn't impressed with the Bravo M-jet i was all over it with in my cinq.

Also have you consider the weight of both car? Like on paper a jeep could be fast with a big engine ... but they don't handle and heavy ....

And IMO, the punto abarth is more suitable for a young person and much better to look at. But that down to personal taste, but am sure the bravo is good for a family and if you need a bigger car.

What about joining the rare turbo cento owners club? If ah had the spare cash ad defo be buying this http://bit.ly/9ziREy although whether the engine would stay in the Sei or go in my cinq would be another decision

Welcome along KieranB, avatar looks better now :)

Greg, my good lady wife says you should buy a smaller Alfa! She would love to trade her pug family wagon in for another as it get her from A to B whereas her Alfa 147 inspired passion, excitement an usually a wee detour whilst driving it lol
