Cinquecento My Metallic Blue 1998 Cinquecento 1.1 Sporting.

Introduction

Hi well, i only joined the forum just a few day ago because i purchased this little 1998 cinqu 1.1 sporting as my little project just purely as a runaround:Djust so i do not have to drive my 2.0 16v Espace about,

I am not quite sure what iam going to be doing to it its far from being a perfict cinqu and with lots of tlc i hope in time it will be,

Well it has a years ticket on it and i have it garaged and hope to get stuck in about it in the next few weeks with a good check over mechanically then a clean top to bottom and then one of my first jobs after this is to replace the Rocker cover Gasket as it running a little at the front and then and only then will i start to sex it up a little:eek:

Cheers Scuderia

p.s Anyone now if this Blue Metallic paint colour has a name???
If the paintless dent man cant fix it then what a bodyshop will probably do is grind the paint away in the dent, weld a slide hammer into it, give it a tug (ey up) and then fill, sand, prime, flat off and spray the whole panel

Thanks for the replys guys(y),

I can do many things but this one is beyond me,

I could buff it,pull it, fill it sand and degrease it followed by giving it a prime, not a problem, but i couldn't paint the whole panal, although a bodyshop might not even paint the whole panel they may well just blend it in?, I'll bit the bullet and get my local bodyshop to do there thing....no rush though, ive lived with it for this long?,since i bought the car 4 years ago, i'll get it sotred out soon:),

Cheers Don

you have made my morning at work very entertaining ( 9 til 1 ) reading your thread, love the car keep up the work man (if it needs anymore ) :)

is a track car, a bit of battle scars add characters ! :D

Ming

Your right though Ming(y).......as much as i have all the respect in the world for the guys & girls that show there cars it was never about that for me ,although i do attend the odd show but never with expectation of winning that's for sure, whats happening now is iam getting to the end of the road if you get my drift and iam keen to tie up them loose ends, but your right i set out for this car to have the 90's rally look and to use it on the track on the odd hot hatch day at Knockhill so i can live with the odd bruise here and there but this one is annoying me:eek::D,

I think i read a reply on here before saying that someone had started reading it and said it took them hours:eek:.......lol,and they say women can talk:rolleyes:,

Your right though enough is enough, just a few more jobs to do and i'll draw a line under it and do no more other than its up keep,

Hi All,

Well the new black plastic bumpers arrived safe and well, thats about all Ive done this week,i did give the car a wash a dry and put it back in the garage:D,should make a start to these over the weekend all going well?,

Ahh the fun of spending hours demeling and filing the slats and other vent out, done it on two bumpers now:(

Drill some big holes behind the number plate, can shave off a few grams. Also look at nitranes rear bumper, quite a drastic visual mod but maybe worth doing.

lol yeah i know man,iam not so bad as my oil cooler just sites below that blanked off vent on the right side of the bumper so i only need to cut the 6 blanking slats out below that large blanking vent as thats enough for the oil cooler,i did think about drilling a few holes in the Imola Blue bumbers behind the number plate years ago but never did, although i might just do it to this one before i do the change over, then all i have to do is remove the number plate for track days for extra cooling........not that i have any heating problems, but if i can get the ambient air temp down around the engine bay that has to be a good thing for the Suck Squeeze Bang & Blow:D,

Hi Guys & Girls,

Well i managed to get a little time with the Fiat this weekend but not near as much time as would have liked, but i have made a little progress,

Right i managed to get to old colour coded Imola Blue bumpers removed and stripped down and the parts iam using again cleaned and fitted to the new textured black plastic bumpers,

I also got the old bumpers covered and packed away for safe keeping for future use,

Ive also got some stickers for them....as i do:),but Ive no pic's iam afraid, i will get some for you later in the week as i have extra long weekend booked this weekend coming:)Nice!, so i should get the job finished off then?,

I didn't think they would suit an Imola (maybe ok on a lighter colour), but that looks nice :)

They do look better on other none sporting colours........there's no doubt about it!,even some of the sporting colours, but they do still suit the Imola, just not as well as some of the other colours.......i like it:cool:,
