Grande Punto My Grey Grande (Italian Stallion) modified lowered

Introduction

I have had my car for over a year and a half now and have still not got round to creating a build thread!!! (Terrible I know!)

Here is what it looked like when I 1st got it :)

It wasn't long before I got some inspiration from the forum and decided to go with the carbon vinyl on the front bumper/ grill :)

I did vinyl the bottom part of the bumper as well underneath the lower grill but the cat pissed on it and it went grey :( lol

The next change that came along would be the blue interior footwell lights, pedals, punto stickers and new wheel trims. (sorry for the poor quality photo's!)

Very blue! lol (sunbed style!) :)

My pedals (They kept slipping off so I eventually got rid of them :( )

This is a photo of me and a friend in his modified civic (b16 EJ) very nice build and completely modified and very fast!
You can see my custom fiat badges on this photo (not well but...) I scraped the red off and painted them black with silver fiat lettering :)

I up-rated the suspension to Abarth springs which I was miss-informed on when I was told it would lower the car 40mm!!! the difference wasn't even noticeable! although the handling improved no-end!!!

I left my car like that for quite a while... Until... I vinyl'd the roof gloss black, tinted the side repeaters and got a black FK debadged grill. (I know it doesn't look nice in this photo but hey ho... it's on it's way to well... hopefully perfection :) p.s. excuse the scenery around my car... House is still being built so it's a building site :)

Yeah... :)

Anyway onwards!!!

My car has been like that for months until... Last Saturday! :)
I got a brilliant deal on my coilovers (FK Street AK) from Prolex UK and a set of 5 BMW E30 alloys which I refurbished with all center caps.

The back :)

Still some arch gap!!! :)

Need to get the arches rolled or a camber kit as the wheels have some poke... Looks good but It means that the real have a chance of hitting the arch and shredding when I go over a large bump quickly!!! NOT GOOD!!!

The alloys are 15" original BBS and I think they look good. I have seen a post somewhere on here about people thinking that the grande is best suited to 16" or above and that 15" look bad... I disagree as In my opinion these 15's look nice :) what do you think?

Anyway... Back to the low's!!!

More low's

only 8cm clearance!!!

So what do you guy's think??? Any idea's on more mod's? I wanted to open the headlights to paint the inside black but after searching around I found out it's pretty much impossible unless you want to mess up your lights. I just can't take that risk! :(

So it will continue :)
It's been three days. Yet I want to see more!!!

This is almost my favorite GP, apart from this:

Thanks :) I will try to get some more photo's up asap... In the next few weeks i'm going to start buying parts i.e. cupra splitter etc, then off to the garage to get the helpers cut down for more low's :)

Yeah Jamies Gp is just awesome! Can't believe how much he has changed it! Must have cost a fortune especially to get it re-sprayed to white!

This thread needs updates :) good quote by the way wish mine was that low

Yeah it sure does!! I'll see what I can do as i'm away from my car for another month! :(

As for insurance I went with Aviva but I doubt anyone around my age would get a good quote with them. (10% online discount, 30% staff discount, 20% multiple car discount)

If you want close to that try elephant and add your family as additional drivers! My quote from them was £786 fully comp with mods.

Just a little update as to when the modification ball will be rolling again :)

I'm trying to get some new stuff sorted for the coming weeks/ month, i.e. Chrome mirror covers (not to everyones taste especially as they're chrome! Take a look at lukemortlock7's thread, that's where I got the idea!)

Other than that I'm going to lower the front even more! Hopefully tint the rear window without ****ing it up this time!! :) and some other mods aswell (surprise!)

P.s. I'm on the lookout for used things like: Chrome mirror caps for the gp or 500, front splitter, spoiler, wind deflectors (Heko) front fogs etc.... So if anyone has any of the above that they don't really want or need anymore then send me an pm or comment on here so we can possibly arrange a price. (y)

No I havent, I get home in 2 weeks so will be around then so I can fit when I get back :) That would be good if you could! Cheap is always good as long as the quality's there :D

They sound like they hold up well if you've had them for so long :) If you can remember the link in the next 2 weeks then that would be good :) If not then I'll go for the ones recommended by Cairnsy :)

Just need to watch mate the auction runs out in 13 days 10 hours, just depends if they'll put another listing on

Getting insurance sorted soon... £510 fully comp with 1 year ncb with mods at age 18. That's brightened my day :)

Whaaaattttt.

Your on coils at 18 and fully comp is £510 for you? Insurance makes no sense i swear. I'm 23, been driving for 4 years and all 4 are ncb. Mods declared and my premium for this year was £978 or something similar, and thats with tints, lowered on eibach sportlines and was with aftermarket TD's alloys. Renewal is 4th April, i'm going be having stern words!

Insurance is madness, I'm 21 been driving 3 years, got quotes of £3000 for the abarth, told a company I'd been offered £700 to see what they said, offered me £699 and that's that, £699 for me :p pays to shop about and well, lie :) lol
