Grande Punto My Grey Grande (Italian Stallion) modified lowered

Introduction

I have had my car for over a year and a half now and have still not got round to creating a build thread!!! (Terrible I know!)

Here is what it looked like when I 1st got it :)

It wasn't long before I got some inspiration from the forum and decided to go with the carbon vinyl on the front bumper/ grill :)

I did vinyl the bottom part of the bumper as well underneath the lower grill but the cat pissed on it and it went grey :( lol

The next change that came along would be the blue interior footwell lights, pedals, punto stickers and new wheel trims. (sorry for the poor quality photo's!)

Very blue! lol (sunbed style!) :)

My pedals (They kept slipping off so I eventually got rid of them :( )

This is a photo of me and a friend in his modified civic (b16 EJ) very nice build and completely modified and very fast!
You can see my custom fiat badges on this photo (not well but...) I scraped the red off and painted them black with silver fiat lettering :)

I up-rated the suspension to Abarth springs which I was miss-informed on when I was told it would lower the car 40mm!!! the difference wasn't even noticeable! although the handling improved no-end!!!

I left my car like that for quite a while... Until... I vinyl'd the roof gloss black, tinted the side repeaters and got a black FK debadged grill. (I know it doesn't look nice in this photo but hey ho... it's on it's way to well... hopefully perfection :) p.s. excuse the scenery around my car... House is still being built so it's a building site :)

Yeah... :)

Anyway onwards!!!

My car has been like that for months until... Last Saturday! :)
I got a brilliant deal on my coilovers (FK Street AK) from Prolex UK and a set of 5 BMW E30 alloys which I refurbished with all center caps.

Old vs Refurb :)

All fitted to the car last saturday and it's looking good if I say so myself :)

The back :)

Still some arch gap!!! :)
463461_4043529722460_1490313512_o.jpg

Need to get the arches rolled or a camber kit as the wheels have some poke... Looks good but It means that the real have a chance of hitting the arch and shredding when I go over a large bump quickly!!! NOT GOOD!!!

The alloys are 15" original BBS and I think they look good. I have seen a post somewhere on here about people thinking that the grande is best suited to 16" or above and that 15" look bad... I disagree as In my opinion these 15's look nice :) what do you think?

Anyway... Back to the low's!!!

More low's

only 8cm clearance!!!

So what do you guy's think??? Any idea's on more mod's? I wanted to open the headlights to paint the inside black but after searching around I found out it's pretty much impossible unless you want to mess up your lights. I just can't take that risk! :(

So it will continue :)
Right guys! I have some questions regarding the value of my car... What do people think my car's currently worth if I were to sell it modified?

What do you think it's worth unmodified? (I'll take the bits off and sell separately)

What do you think is best to do... Sell it standard?, or sell it modified? (bear in mind I have 4 almost brand new michellins on my old steelies.

I'm probably going to sell the GP early next year. Thinking I might go for a Merc C class (c180k) Can get insurance for atleast under £900 :) Would be a nice upgrade.

reg and mileage?
I sold my 1.2 active, 57plate with 32k miles in February for £3700 modified (alloys, spoiler, eibach's, carbon fibre dash, debadged grill, black roof etc etc), I paid £2700 for it in January 2012 standard. It's very rare to make money on a car, especially over a year later. I would definitely say it's because I'd modified it. But saying that, a modified car attracts a smaller audience than a stock car but at the end of the day it's generally the mileage people care about. Hope this helps and gives you some perspective :)

Sell it standard mate, the punto is a good first car in this day and age and people won't buy them with coilovers and alloys as obvious insurance will be through the roof. Make a bit of cash from parts and get the most you can for it standard :)

Ahh I forgot! It's a 58 plate, millage is around 55k. Its the basic active model with no added extras. That's a very fair price! I bought mine with 41k on the clock in July 2011 at £3750.

You bought yours in 2012 stock with 35k for £2700??? F*** thats a good price!

Was thinking that I would. problem is my mate will probably want another £40 to remove everything and re-install... maybe more :/ I'll make a profit of around £100+ on the alloys... Coilovers are almost brand new... (600-800 miles on them atm at a guess... maybe less!)

The problem youve got mate (no offence intended) is that its only a 1.2 so basically when selling its going to appeal to the 1st car market. So the coilovers etc will put people off as ben said. So you will be more likely to get a better price selling it standard. If possible try and do the removing and returning to standard work yourself?

Hi All!

If all goes to plan the old Grande will be going up for sale in the next month or 2 :( Gonna miss her!

Price tag of around £3200-3400 (standard) If anyone is interested. Keep a lookout on autotrader these upcoming months for a silver/ grey gp with around 55-60000 on the clock. All parts I will list if anyone is interested as they've got to go!

FK AK Coilovers very low millage! Only driven Christmas and Easter! (total of 4 weeks driving): £130

Badgeless grill (Painted black - originally chrome): £20

Alloys: BMW E30 15" 4x100, 5 of them all with center caps - 4 of which are refurbished: £180

All parts will be available in 3 weeks time with the exception of the coilovers as I have to find time in decent weather to remove them.

All money going to a good cause... A Mercedes W203 C Class Coupe C220 CDI :D

I'd be interested in the grill !

Ok, I'll be home in the next 2 1/2 weeks, I can set it aside for you if you want :) I don't know what postage would be as I'll need to weigh it etc... I'll give it a black re-spray as well before I send it off. I'll send you a PM or something in the next 3 weeks and if you still want it we can arrange payment, postage etc...
