Well felt i better make a start on the pre-show list. First off smoothed off the rear boot lock. Set about it today. Removing the lock and creating a metal plate for the hole. I was not going to fibre glass over the lock which ive heard some people doing... Welded up the hole and began the three layers of body filler. Sanding away until i was happy with the final skim. Hopefully get it painted for Saturday

Task tommorrow,Arches and Finger recess on the petrol flap.

Looking good bro. Punto does look alot better minus the lock+wiper I must admit. Is the smoothing you do an extreme job? I was thinking about buying an old bumper or bonnet and giving it a go; as the funds for it going to the garage on many occasions still lacks :p friend has a pro paintgun, but might leave that to the pros.

Its pritty hard to do. Alot of knowledge is needed. Same with the painting side. But there isnt any harm with trying. Buy the time you buy materials which are expensive you may aswell give it to a bodyshop to smooth. Though not alot of garages do that sort of thing. Bonnet the badge will require a metal plate to be welded otherwise over time the movement and the heat of the engine will cause the filler to crack. I learnt that lol

Are you coming to the show on the 27th?

hmm, might just save up and get it done by a pro. Don't want a ghetto job. And I might try and make it to the show, I've got exams near that time so I'd have to work it out and see; it's about an hour and a half drive away sticking to the A91

i want to know were you find all your effot to do all this ,, So if you want to sell me some id buy some lol

HAHa Thanks :) . Just really love working on my car. Most of my free time is spent on the punto. Also doing all the work myself makes the car bit more personal to me. Hopefully have it looking in a better state for the show!. As it looks like at the mo its from the Ghetto with the primer parts around the car.

Sounds good. Ive got a compressor and air tools which helps alot. I do the major sanding by hand. Get a far superior finish compaired to a Elec or Air Sander.

Well thats the arches painted and the tailgate. Decided to paint my door handles again as they were originally done with a rattle can and I was not very happy with them. Under sealed both rear arches and the back again to fresh it up. Hopefully make a start on this new boot build for the show. Happy with the look of the fully smoothed tailgate. Also the petrol flap recess is a nice touch. Something not very noticeable but different. Like how the line continues round and is not broke up with the recess. Other little bits and bobs to sort but im getting there.
