mapping is getting there, not perfect by a long shot - i've just not had the time to play. it's been on a motorway trip up to see brooky but thats the furthest its been yet.

atm i've got no temperature gauges on the dashboard, so am weary about it (but it does seem fine). I do have an overheat light that comes on if the radiator temperature hits 95c.

should be drilling and tapping the thermostat this week sometime to get the water temp readout back, and then fitting the oil temp sender at some point as well.

me, and the car should be at stanford :)

you're welcome :)

car still going well, mapping still not really sorted (not had time). few niggles, it shrededed the alternator belt, and the starter motor (which is the one origonal to the car) packed up - but had spare stilo one, so fitted that and it's been happy since :)

You still need to take it upto the limiter in 5th gear! I would join you doing that with my own car but I'm to scared to go WOT in anything above 2nd gear :( as I'm breaking 70mph by then)

you know i can just move the limiter... :p

i think the engine is choked at higher RPM due to the small 1242 16v TB, or it might just be the ignition timing.

videos? none yet.. i should do some though eh!

So arc.... when you had the mot it passed emissions even with the dodgy mapping?
I thought my map was spot on but emissions where all over the shop even with a cat.
did you pay to turn a blind eye like i had to? :O :p

mine might of just been bad cos of been 15degrees out on the timing!

im worried now as i only have 6months still its that time again. hoping it will be better now with a turbo engine been in a lower state of tune then the original engine (high comp/4-2-1 manifold ect)

the mapping around idle and fast idle was spot on, ex-housemate is a mechanic and let me mess about sorting the mapping whilst sat on their emissions tester.

You might try the 48mm Dell'Orto TB off the K Series: looks easy enough to fit (see Aaron) and you can pick up the aluminium ones for £30 or so. Come from the right city in the right country, too!

Or, just fit this, 48mm throttle body, which is literally a bolt on replacement, and electrically identical. As the meer cat says "simples".

PS. Its not in use cough cough PM cough :p
