just been reading through the thread again. Useful info as usual :)

One thing though - why do you need injectors that will "fit"?

Im using full size bosch 240cc injectors atm on a mk2 16v fuel rail - all i have modified is tying the fuel rail to the manifold with wire. Sounds like a bodge but it isnt ever coming loose.

hi, i have a standard 1108cc chinquecento sporting and am looking for a bit more 'go'. i looked into a punto 75 cam but then found out about the 16v 1242cc punto sporting. would it be possible to use the ecu and 16v head and drop it onto my 1108cc block. this may be easier than a whole engine swap and should provide a bit more poke. i would also keep my origonal 52000 mile bottom end and engine number.

how much money do you have? not sure i know of anyone running a 16v engine on an SPI ECU. Don't know if it'd work.

Also, fitting the 16v head to the 1108cc block isn't going to be easier than fitting a whole 16v engine. They all sit on the same mounts, externally most blocks are the same.

i dont have a great deal of money. i will be selling my 899cc p reg chinquecento on saturday to raise some funds. i was going to look for a mk1 punto 16v (sporting i think) and transfer the 16v head, ecu and 14" wheels onto my chinquecento sporting. this would leave me with a 1242cc 8v engine and box to sell. it all depends on if i can get hold of a punto cheap.

i have found a punto mk1 sporting for sale. it has a 1242 16v engine and 6 speed gearbox. is this engine and gearbox a straight swap for my chinquecento sporting? the added power and 6th gear should be a nice upgrade. Im just worried about the change in electrics and ecu needed.

is the 6 speed manual gearbox gonna be a straight swap for the 5 speed or will it be more hassle than its worth?

Wow good read, makes me think it could be simpler to get a stilo take it apart then build the cinq body around it :p

I would love to do this but all the technical stuff would go over my head pluss i am sure the insurance company would be happy lol
