Stu, get your fire checked out (I am sure you will anyway) CO is a dangerous chemical (as again I know you know). Maybe you simply didn't have enough ventilation?
Cheers Paul!

The fire in question is not one we use a lot - it is in the family room! We have another gas one in the dining room, and a log-burner in the lounge, lol.

It may be to do with ventilation - anyway, all off now, and will get a carbon monoxide tester soon, plus may call someone out.

I am feeling sleepy...........................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

CO will do that to you. There could be a blockage in the flue, but either way, if you are getting it checked out, it will get sorted.

Gaz, you said you had a microwave, just make the coffee in that.

i have no water, i never tried milky coffee before
Milky coffee well nice - some cold milk in a mug, in microwave on high for a few minutes, stir halfway through as well.

Then a few spoonfuls of coffee into it, and stir - yum :)

Gaz, how you cleaning your teeth?

Keep an eye on it, if it boils over you will have made a mess of your microwave and with no water to clean it, your microwave will get very smelly, very quickly.

Don't add the coffee while the milk is still boiling, give it at least 15 seconds to cool down or your coffee will get burnt.

yeah its called a mochachino (sp) ;)
My favourite, always order that when I go into coffee shops.....

Good tip there from Neofolis, although I try and make sure milk not boiling too much to begin with - Gaz, keep your eye on it.....

damn, well i made it, im just picking out bits of the plastic spoon that i left in it, but so far so good, its got 3 spoons of coffee and 2 spoons of choc

Again, if nobody read it, it's not a good idea to boil any liquid in the microwave due to super heating.

LOL Gaz, kinda like cups of tea on trains then that always smell of plastic, I made my first proper cup of tea at uni the other day (had a lack of teabags and memory to buy some) and enjoyed it so much :d, stupid train tea with UHT milk shouldn't be called tea. I guess that's why they make the train services so bad; when you drink the tea it's barable as you're pissed off!

There's a place in Southampton that does a White Chocolate Mocha, quite nice.

I'm a Latté man myself, but trying to find decent Latté in this country is a problem. In St.Lucia in April I had many excellent Lattés, admittedly all from the same place, but I can't really afford to go that far for coffee.
