They used the allen key. And it rounded out and split the top of the shocker. They had no problem at all with the other bits, just that one shock.

mine did exactly the same !!!....i ended up having to lock it up with 2 nuts after the allen key bit had snapped !

Pondering what to do with this really. Obviously it'd be cheaper just to get lowering springs, but I can't help but think the dampers need to get done at the same time.

Have looked into kits, only one's I've really found are the System 2 kit and Bilstein B12 kit, the latter being almost double the price of the first (Bilstein was a bit over £450, though don't think that included delivery). That said, I was looking at the Demon Tweeks price for the Bilstein kit.

Being one of the more expensive mods on the car, shall be carefully considering my options I think. That and of course deciding whether to get the suspension done or get a large HD TV for my living room :D

No - bad move :shakehead: - you'll just end up with crap handling :(

As muppet says, makes far more sense to do the job properly and it costs less anyway if you do both jobs at once (y)

dont get me wrong, i know its much much better to get the whole lot done but i cant really afford it. dampers are another £240 ontop of the £100 im spending on the springs, labour is free as im fitting them, i just think that util i save the pennies for the dampers i may aswell use the oem ones (which i wont use again anyway) and have the car lower? coyle's done it for a few thousand miles so i guess its best to ask him?

i hope so... its his springs im buying:D he's going to the floor with coilovers:cool:. thanks for the advice anyway(y), im sure i'l be back here in a month or so saying "you were right, i need new dampers"

i ordered from europerformance.com and i got an e-mail today saying they are going to take up to 3 weeks to arrive!! that's not good i wanted it lowered before the RR day on the 24th:(

this is the problem im having mate, im so annoyed, its because they are coming from germany (mine are anyway) i'll let you know when mine turn up neway

Hey, I plan to purchase some Eibach Springs tomorrow,

Whats the difference between 'Prokit' and 'Sportline Springs', apart from Prokit is 30mm/30mm and Sportline is 45-50mm/30mm.

What do you guys recommend?

Cheers

Prokit is better for handling in my experience as a general rule.
