My PI spring set is marked 25149 which I notice exactly matches the number from the PI website (y)

Interestingly, they supply 4 sets in total for the Stilo just as Eibach do.

Seems bizarre that Koni offer just one set for the whole engine range

 you have lowered your car Argo :worship: sly old dog :D

Had the PIs fitted this morning by Italian Car Spares (POOLE) who did a cracking job. They only charged £92.24 and that included re-tubing my Overboost Valve.

It's quite a bit lower than I expected (so a little disappointed as only really changed because of spring issue).

These are the figures:

Average clearance before: Front = 167.5mm Rear = 195mm
Average clearance after: Front = 135mm Rear = 147mm

So that's an average drop of 32.5mm on the front and quite a massive 48mm on the rear. Fortunately its levelled the car slightly so critical loss of ground clearance is only 32.5mm. At least that's for the moment and I'm hoping it wont drop any further.

As reported by others the ride quality is still very good (you can barely notice the difference) and remains better than many other cars. It goes without saying that handling is improved but hope I don't get thrown off a fast corner when the underside makes contact with something unexpected :(

I'm going to see how it goes but if it drops much further I may be forced to put standard springs on again (I certainly wont be putting the ones I took off back on and that's another story completely ;) )

Argo you chav lowering springs today ..body kit next month ..remap by the end of the year  and I caught you good and proper the other day didnt I :p

okay, while i dont really have a stilo yet, im that sorta person that likes to be prepared - so i was wondering if it was possible to get a bit of guidance on the subject of lowering the Stilo.

from what i can read, Eibach´s are the way to go, so im thinking they would be a fair route to go. however, i checked a few places here in Denmark, and they are horridly expencive - i did however pop by Ebay.de to check their prices, and they seemed a bit more reasonable.

what im going for is a 30/30 for a JTD 115 - from what i can spot there is a set with springs and one, with what i would guess is dampeners

set with springs only

set with dampners?

and really, i have no idea what ied need, so any pointers would be great!

I have even bought parts for my car on the German site and got things cheaper than shopping here in the UK ..go for the damper and springs dont cut corners there isnt any point and could well be more expensive if you dont in the long run (y)

got my springs installed today, looks a lot better with the wheels looking like theyre not for off-road use, lol. havent got the test the handling yet as im going to get new tyres and allignment tomorrow, got Spax's for £100 and labour was £50 so not a bad job for the money

yea defnitly lowered on the front (though in fairness one of the original springs were broken)
spax offer a range of different springs for the diferent engine sizes, tho the springs are the same for the 1.2 and the 1.4 i think. its stil has "suspension" as such and isnt just riding off the bump stops so in terms of bumpy roads and speed ramps i think 35mm was well appropriate
il send ya the link or reference to the springs, i work in ripspeed so i get discount :D for anyone else they would be £120 and well i just got a mechanic i knew to stick them in
il post pics as soon as, cars got a good bit done 2 it over the last week or so so just waitin till i get wat i want done finished

I might have a look into the Spax springs then. I'm used to the way the car looks now, but it still bugs me a little.

EDIT: I've been a little confused with the Koni springs. They're not sold for the engine, just labelled 'front axle weight up to 1030kg'. I notice with the Spax kit that it's for the 1.2, 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8. I also notice they're only £95 plus £12 delivery online. Funny how everywhere's always cheaper than hallfrauds...:p

i still got them cheaper than tht :D
make them price match and u'l get it cheaper again, lol
u get the reference alright then?

woo i guessed right, lol. aye there the springs i used, seem great :D

hey its not essential to replace the bump stops. if you lower it by just replacing the springs then after about a year on riding on the OEM shocks the handling wont be great. theres a guy on here who created a post describing handling before and after the bump stops. i told my insurance company, quinn direct. if the worse hapens i wana b covered so if i didn tell them i wouldnt of been covered, tho my insurance went up a £100 :(
