Technical Loose gear selector in gate - goes straight past 5th to reverse

Hi All
Has anyone thoughts on what could cause this symptom please? 2015 TwinAir Crossmax has developed a lose gear stick and, when moving into fifth, the ‘stop’ no longer exists and it’s possible to keep going across towards the reverse gear.
I guess the gate could be worn, but it seems surprising in a relatively young car.

[The Panda Nut]

On the Panda 100 the stop is provided coutesy of a piece of knicker elastic under the gaiter. Its possible its something as tirvial as that. I had my Mrs sew some straight out of a pair of tescos best and repaired that car with a little assistance from herself.
