I think my battery needs replacing in my key fob for my 100hp as it doesn't always light up and unlocking, how do you get to the battery in the fob and is there any risk of it messing up the coding thingy?

Silly question but how do you get to the battery in the fob, does it slide or snap open?

I'd be surprised if the battery has failed already -- mine, a March 2005 car which is used pretty well every day, and locked and unlocked several times a day, is still using the original battery.

But, the answer is that the lower part of the fob pops open - with the key blade 'open' you can pull the case apart by pulling quite hard at the join under the Fiat logo. Here's what the manual shows:

Nice one, cheers. I've gone through my manual and cannot find this info anywhere.

Mine has a black key fob with three buttons and folding blade. You have to pry off the Fiat logo badge (use a small sharp screwdriver) to find a screw underneath. Remove the screw and the case comes apart.
