Styling KC3 Project Silver

Thanks for the offer Alan,
I have moved the cars , the turbo has gone into safe place and the silver has been moved too. the garage is waiting for a new door to come from italy and this will take a month so repairs will not be for a while. My Van has had to go in for some paint work too as someone wacked into the back of me last month.

Great month ive had!:bang:

So using a hire van for time being.

Cant see this situation between me and my X getting any better in the short term or long term, Think i will be selling both vehicles , house too if i can and go visit family in Cyprus for a while.

:shakehead: Hate to see decent folks been forced out by f**kwitts :bang:

If there is anything I can do mate I'm always at the end of the phone. If you do decide to go to cyprus and want any of the Barchetta's garaged long term, my garage is yours for as long as you want it (will need to give it a good clean out first mind :)) Promise not to use it whilst your away (yep my fingers are crossed :D) In all seriousness the offer is there you can store it free for as long as you wish & will be looked after like it's my own (y)

LOL! thats something i havent done gor a while.

Well an update re damage.

Garage rang me today and was supprised how cheap the B's can be. He thought it was a £10,000 motor and after cross reference with similiar aged B,s for sale around the £3000 mark have told me there is a likely chance that they will write it off.

Now i,m not sure if this is a good thing or not as i wouldnt want to lose the B to the insurers on a low payout.

I would buy the B back and have the repair done myself.

Dilema is to proove that my B is worth more than stated in guides and others advertised.

Help anyone. :(

Need to tell them that your car is well above average condition, enthusiast owned etc and you will get an indipendant inspection from a motor assessor if they try to rip you off, also if you know the owners of the Barchetta club ask if they could issue a valuation in club leterhead. Needs to be a registered club as Car forums such as this won't count.

Any you see for sale in simmilar condition with simmilar value print them out and send to ins comp.

I am with Alan, I know we discussed this on the phone but I also think it may be worth a trip to DTR for a valuation (explaining the situation)......

However, as long as you are confident that you could buy the car back at a 'cheap' rate then it may be worth having it written off, buying it back and having the work done yourself - could even pocket a couple of quid! - only issue I could see is it being HPI listed if you ever come to sell her.....

The assessor from Norwich Union came out this morning, seemed ok. had a look round and seemed ok with the body repairs. just commented on the mohair hood as the garage priced up at close to £1000 to replace and a total repair of £5125:eek:. he rang a company and they came back with 660 fitted. he wanted to save the B from total loss and said he will be contacting garage about this and will come back to me, may need to get the B at one of their approved garages for a second quote. Will see what he comes back with.

£3,000 for a B replacement?

£1,000 for a hood replacement?

These garage's totally overprice repairs and underestimate value. Must be wanting to make a good profit. This should not be allowed, especially in the case of cherished vehicles.

KC, this could be good news - I think that you will find the NU approved repairer will come back with a move favourable quote as they have agreed labour rates etc with NU.........

........if the garage that assesed your b is a mate he is an expensive one!!

Had my supersprint rear box arrive today.
Ive been waiting for this for such a long time and now the B's in a sort of limbo re insurance assesment not sure what to do.

It looks like a great bit of kit.:) Very sexy and shiny (y)
