this one isnt coming to the uk. if it did then it would cost a lot more.

The Chinese invasion will come to a sudden end, when the workforce realises that they too can ask for remuneration amongst other internal problems.
Just to put a few things straight:
Maserati are developed with Ferarri not Alfa
Ford are making a big mistake selling Jaguar and Landrover - Landrover has the best 4x4's offered by any manufacturer and jaguar has the brilliant XK and the new XF which is car of the year 2008. Ford sold Aston Martin just as things were looking up (the new vantage) and now are going to do the same to Landrover and Jaguar.
Ford would have sunk both brands if they had stayed in ownership and although TATA may be a cheap and nasty brand they wont be building the cars but they'll be able to get both brands into china. This will allow TATA to bring there cars over here to - and even they will be cheap and rough as arseholes it may have a positive effect on other manufacturers who will bring out ultra cheap cars for say 4 grand but with none of the build issues. :bang:

almost every single sentence is nonsense, how is that putting things straight?!Just to put a few things straight:
wrong, not since 2004.Maserati are developed with Ferarri not Alfa
in your opinion LR are the best, sales figures do not reflect that. even though LR are profitable it is hardly a big deal for ford. jag have made losses for many years now. ford cant afford to keep subsidising the losses and they cant sell LR seperately to jag due to shared facilities. ford are selling both brands to save money, they've made huge losses lately and need to do something about it.Ford are making a big mistake selling Jaguar and Landrover - Landrover has the best 4x4's offered by any manufacturer and jaguar has the brilliant XK and the new XF which is car of the year 2008.
ford sold AM after it made a profit for the first time in 40 years. so yes things were looking up, but ford were losing cash badly and needed to do something, AM was considered the least successful part of the business that could be sold, so business wise it was the right choice at the time. AM was an insignificant part of ford's balance sheet, it was the right decision.Ford sold Aston Martin just as things were looking up (the new vantage) and now are going to do the same to Landrover and Jaguar.
what does TATA have to do with china?Ford would have sunk both brands if they had stayed in ownership and although TATA may be a cheap and nasty brand they wont be building the cars but they'll be able to get both brands into china.
TATA have no plans to sell any of their asian market vehicles in europe, they arent idiots so they know you need to have a product that is suitable for the market you intend to sell it in. rather than developing their own products to do this they are buying established brands that they will use instead. thats the whole point of this purchase. This will allow TATA to bring there cars over here to - and even they will be cheap and rough as arseholes it may have a positive effect on other manufacturers who will bring out ultra cheap cars for say 4 grand but with none of the build issues. :bang:
True - international car of the year. XF is what car - car of the year (sorry about that.
Just to update on the comment earlier the new Maserati coupe is still developed with Ferarri - it has the F430 4.3 V8 engine.
I personally don't think the 500 was worth all the hype. It has a nice interior but some of the plastics are cheap and the build isn't great. It also has a tiny interior - i'm 6ft3 but I cant fit into the 500. The outside of the car is not bad looking and I prefer it to the mini but it's not really my cup of tea - hence why i'm waiting for my new panda to arrive.
How am able to see if I can fit into the 500 if I don't try it? The Mini is virtually the same size and I have no trouble in getting comfortable in that. If FIaat had put the seat lower instead of too high people of my height would fit into it and it would be a viable opinion - as Fiat didn't it's not.![]()
alfa romeo and fiat and lancia do share some parts with ferrari, as do maserati, but "development" of maserati (as in the engineering of cars) is now completely seperate to ferrari, and has been since february 2005. it would have happened sooner if the cash was available, but fiat couldnt afford to do it until GM bought their way out the collaboration.Maserati ARE developed using Ferrari parts. End of story.
