jaguar and fiat?

alfa romeo and fiat and lancia do share some parts with ferrari, as do maserati, but "development" of maserati (as in the engineering of cars) is now completely seperate to ferrari, and has been since february 2005. it would have happened sooner if the cash was available, but fiat couldnt afford to do it until GM bought their way out the collaboration.

check this brief AR history, it explains it more clearly at the bottom of the page.

AR use selespeed, which uses the same parts as some ferrari models. does than mean my car was developed by ferrari, or does it mean it is simply part of the same group as ferrari :chin:

you are entitled to your opinion, but only if it is an opinion, not made up facts :)

Does that mean your car is developed by Ferarri? No but you can keep dreaming.
I don't remember quoting facts - maybe that bit slipped my mind. :chin:

Does anybody know how to work the height adjustment on the 500 seats?

6.3" and I fit fine, even with the Lounge glass roof.

Maybe i'm taller than 6ft3 then. I tried a lounge and my head brushes the roof. The seat doesn't go back far enough for my legs either so I can't even get a comfortable driving position. I tried adjusting the seat height, backrest and the steering wheel but couldn't fit in properly.

Jag/Landie production definately staying U.K. for at least 5 more years. X-type dies 2009/10. XF coupe coming '10. New XJ with XF ish interior probably next year. Chassis will be pretty much the same. Whoever said XF looks like a mondeo is very wrong. I see one in the flesh everyday and even on poverty spec wheels it looks very special and drives even better. And the B&W sound system is immense :)
I Think Jaguars future outlook is a lot brighter than it was tbh.
Build quality is up so much on the new cars. Cant comment on LR but i imagine they are on the up as well.

all i can think about is a RWD alfa hitting the roads some time in the not too distant future. i know its a giant leap to go from finances to platform sharing, but at least there is a growing possibility that the XF could be used as the basis for the 159's replacement. the thought of an alfa with a RWD chassis and supercharged 4.2 V8 makes me tingle all over. i'd be happy with an XF tbh, but just image what the italians could do to make it a better car :yum:
