starter known to work but mechanic is a bit of a dips**t, school boy error i think, took the battery of charge for a sec and the car turned over a little. hopeing it is a flat battery, will let you know 2 moz

it started about 10 mins ago stilling reving between 1500rpm and 2000rpm on its own though, from what ive read and been told its a vaccum hose.

any one got any pics to show me which the vacuum hoses are?

little bit of smoke from the engine too, think this may be from the exhaust putty though.

well its well and truely alive now.

had the other cinq removed and scrapped so could take it out (only in the entry though ) but wow does it go. never got out of first but could feel the torque

got a few niggles

no horn
bonnet doesnt close unless slammed really hard (moved the locking mechanism up)
no reverse light

been long and hard but i can now see the light other project is already on the go (brought a house ) may be going to view another cinq tonight

well its been a long time since ive updated this thread, but this is the end of the thread.

the 1242 schoolboy engine conversion is completed, mot'd, taxed and insured

got a few niggles still but all is good for now.

a BIG thank you to every one that has helped me it is really much appreciated, hopefully now i have a liuttle knowledge i can help some one that was in my once position.

things to do still are -

re-spray by me got a place sorted for that just wana have fun in the car for a bit
change all the locks (there are 3 different keys to the car in total )
40mm springs think the koni's are only on 20
14" alloys
gt brakes and calipers
put immobiliser on it

once again many thanks you have all been a great support along the way

p.s i should be in the cinq at meets now and not the rover

indeed i did

it was nothing to be ashamed of though, its quick as feck

now the cinq is something to be ashamed of till i get a re-spray

all its good tho, its got loads of torque - think the chip to race chip has helped a lot with that and still got a 75 cam to go in

there is a lot of chips, dents, colour miss match ect so its going to be done propely, can i even say properly if im doing it.lol

i was impressed too, im more chuffed of this than getting my degree

still a long way to go, but atleast its road worthy :slayer:
