Hi all, in case anyone’s interested I’ve just received an email from AngelTuning.co.uk stating that:
We have a couple of ITG Competition Air Filters left in stock for the Fiat Panda 1.4 16v 100HP and we are trying to create some space for new items, therefore we are selling these off at just £30 including P&P (RRP is £77 inc VAT and P&P!). These are on a first come first serve basis and once they are gone they will be back at normal RRP when we buy new stock in. These filters are brand new, sealed and in their box.

Sadly I traded my 100HP in last May for the Punto Evo.
Anyway just thought I’d pass on the info for anyone that’s interested.(y)

I doubt it'll be £77 quid for just a replacement filter as that is extortionate. Maybe it's a cone type filter

Apart from lasting longer than a standard air filter element do performance filters have any effect on a 100HP? What I mean is that the last time I read up on the subject the ECU on the 100HP still hasnt been remapped. So no matter what you do to the car it wont increase its performance. Obviously like I said a performance filter (as with an exhaust) will last longer and give a better sound than a standard unit but nothing else.

about the only thing I have ever had from a filter is that it has maybe cured the odd flat spot, or aided torque more than outright bhp.
For £30 even the one I posted is worth it as they last forever.

Off the top of my head the results from the RR test I done between standard filter, BMC filter and the CDA filter,

Standard was around 94bhp, BMC panel was almost 99bhp and the CDA was 96bhp,

Of course if I do the same test on another RR then I'm sure I'll get different figures, but what you can't argue is the before and after results.

So at best you get a 5 BHP increase with a performance filter. What does that actually mean in terms of performance like 0 to 60 for example. I cant see there being any difference at all. So im not sure the extra cost of a performance filter is worth it.

just had a reply back stating:
As stated, they are the ITG Competition Air Filters, I dont have any pictures - they look like an air filter, not really exciting to be honest... If you really want a picture I could take one in the morning and MMS it to you

I have asked if he means that they are indeed just panel filters. Will update

In the real world you'd be hard pushed to notice it. Also IIRC though there were gains, there was also losses at different rpms. So there was no gain really when it was averaged out.

In respect of 0-60 etc. Nothing whatsoever. It's not worth it. If you want to hear more induction noise then perhaps it's worth it for that.

well:
"Yes they are very similar to that, only the hand made ones for the Panda. Only got one left, the other was snapped up last night, so be quick if you want it"

When I asked if they were the same as the camskill ones I listed before. So, think I'll leave it, hand made, lol

Has anyone fitted a uprated panel air filter and noticed a difference?? If so which make and where do you get it from, been trying to find a K&N item but no one seems to sell them!

Seriously, when it comes to fitting airfilters, they will never give anything significant really in respect of power gains. It's all about hearing a bit more induction noise so it then feels faster. There is nothing wrong with that. So the difference you will notice is a bit more induction noise.

Yeh I've had many cars in the past (turbo & non turbo) that i've fitted K&N cone and panel fitters to and i've always notice a difference with throttle pick up. Was only wondering what people who had fitted one on there panda thought??!

Panel filters will make your engine less restrictive and will free up a few ponies, it feels like it pulls better to the redline. I didn't notice any more induction noise with my BMC panel, just sounds the same.

There is a link at the beginning of the thread for ones by camskill, £29 iirc

I went for the BMC, not alot of money when you think you won't have to replace it for a long time, if ever, also seems good quality and italian! :) haven't noticed much improvement but as others have said you can't expect to.
