Technical Installing a touch screen in a 500

Hi all,

Apologies if this has been asked before but I had a quick search and couldn’t spot anything.

I’m thinking about replacing the standard stereo unit in my 63 plate 500 Lounge with an aftermarket touch screen display and associated Bluetooth controls and wondered if anybody had any experience doing so and could suggest a product if so?

I had a search myself and saw a good looking unit for around £260 but it didn’t seem to support the dual vents like the standard unit. It just replaced this with a single, smaller vented section to support the screen. There wasn’t even the small scroll wheels that let you manage how much air is vented through into the car or the ability to move the vents around.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

and what do you know! I got it right!!! been fitted almost a year now and still as good as day dot!

Hi , does it matter what stereo you choose ? Or just the correct size for the housing ? And what is that ? I’m clueless but yours looks good

There are so many different choices out there I suppose it depends on what you want!?

My advice is don’t buy a cheapo name you’ve never heard of on eBay. Buy PIoneer, Sony, Clarion, Kenwood etc.

Any fitted a new head unit with Interscope already in the 500? i.e. does it all still work?
