How many Fiats have you owned?

First one! And loving it!

I got a 10 years old Stilo 1.9 JTD. I used to hate diesels, but this one... is making me change my mind :)

 Thought you were liking your new car ?

I was until a fiat dealer tried to make me claim on my insurance for something they had done, it's also randomly developed a huge range of squeaks, knocks, thuds and the rest :( very anti-fiat at the moment hopefully it will change with the trip to Italy

Twin air turbo, it's a 1,2 as it only needs to be driven in urban areas so don't need the extra power

Just bought a Fiat 500 (used) although I also owned for almost all my life a '67 Seat 600 based on the Fiat 600 of the same era

Thanks, seems like quite a bad dealer experience. Have you considered contacting another dealer franchise for help with the matter, because the warranty is a manufacturer warranty which should be claimable through any dealer.

Only 2 Fiats. Current Uno Fire 45, with the optional wheels/steering wheel, and currently a 1972 Citroen DS and a 1999 Citroen XM 3 litre V6 24 valve.

The past Fiat was an Uno Turbo Diesel (Imported from Italy by previous owner). I do not intend to have a diesel again!

Previous cars include Citroen Mehari, Citroen CX, three 2CV's, two Dyanes, Alfasud Sprint, Triumph PI 2.5 6 cylinder engine (same as TR6), two Citroen GS's and Citroen GSA, Citroen Visa.

Sometime I intend to get an original 500, and original panda 4x4.

Liking the Cinq Sporting 1242cc pic - an opportunity FIAT missed in my book in 1997/8 - would have made for a nice little proper Abarth model not just a 1.1 with the bodykit which to me never cut the mustard or justified the badge.

I remember when Autocar spotted a metallic grey Sporting being tested with full Abarth kit on including the tasty wheels but no visual clues as to what was actually under the bonnet but they were reporting (or maybe speculating) it was the 1242cc MPi with 75bhp. Thats a lot of motor in such a lightweight car and was ready with a deposit and to part ex in my still new 1.1 55 bhp Sporting......alas it never was. There was question too about it having the 6 speed box.

Today another f*ck up exactly the same fault as last time (coil) it's pretty much confirmed it's the last fiat. I don't know how youse can cope with Fiats I give up I'm looking at alternatives.

so how many miles ago did they replace the 2 coil packs?,
I didn't think you'd covered more than a thousand miles in it..??,

there MUST be another issue,
mines now done 6500 since March , and no issues

TBH - I was half-expecting it in the summer as sitting in Traffic is supposedly the cause of the coils getting cooked,

but all has been fine,
Charlie

I am having a guess at wiring or even ecu but I'm looking at new cars now, when it's fixed it IS going

Oh dear. I see your point though, enough is enough. I'd probably be the same in your position. Touch wood, I've had no serious problems with any of the 3 I've owned so far.

A few niggles recently with my old MK2B (to be expected), but that's it.
