How did you find Fiatforum?

Hi all ?
Portuguese owner of an incredible but quirky Fiat Punto MK2 2003, 1.2 16V. Found this great forum through Google.

I was told about this forum by a guy on a Facebook site, hoping it’s got a few more knowledgeable people on it than the usual sites. Thanks for letting an old man join! Cheers

I was a member once before and lost my login/password and didn't worry too much thinking I'd come back one day. Boy do I need so friends with a Ducato 160 Multijet 6 speed manual diesel. Just blew up the gearbox :-( . Main bearing collapsed causing major trouble. Where to get parts is the question. I'm in Australia

A second hand box shipped from Europe would seem the best bet possibly with a few new bearings to put into for extra peace of mind

Heh all just want to say heh from across the pond..where we drive on the "right side" of the road! Thanks for having me..nice to see so much FIAT enthusiasm..esp in these trying times Thank you Martin
OH yeah I found y'all just surf'n the net!

Google search. Had a small problem, thought someone here could help.
There's a lot of info. & posts in here.

very difficult to get on-why is it so complex? :( I've managed to get this far so will continue-you need to realize that we're not all as computer literate as those who put this together.
Hi and welcome. Do you mean you found it difficult to register and get going? I have to say I'm an absolute dinosaur where "tech" is confirmed, don't even have a smart 'phone, but I didn't find it all that difficult with my "bargain basement cheapo" laptop. It did take me quite some time to understand how to post pictures though.

I absolutely love this forum. Found it whilst browsing around on google and "lurked" for a couple of years before registering and starting to post. It's populated with a lot of people who have a great depth of technical knowledge and it's not very often that someone behaves in a way or expresses an opinion which makes me feel uncomfortable. One of the best thing it's done for me so far was to bring Multiecuscan's existence to my attention. I read all I could find on it and then bought my own registered version - haven't looked back since! It's also where I became aware of Shop4parts - very useful and knowledgeable people for your spares who don't mind you ringing for advice on parts applications.

So please do persevere. I hope you enjoy this forum as much as I do, I'm sure everyone will try their best to make you welcome.

You may have been given the wrong code.
If you post the serial number of the radio and the code you've been given on this thread hopefully Davren or someone else will be able to confirm if it's correct, and the procedure to enter it if it is.

I posted a question elsewhere didn't get many views or any reply's.
I try here. Speedometer cable connection to the transmission. 1981 Fiat X 1/9. It's stuck. Any suggestions.

As you can see the thumb nuts off. There is a screw to the left I loosened. This screw may hold an internal gear in place for the speedometer cable linkage. I not sure.

The inner drive cable should just pull out now, give it a tug.
If you are removing it because it has snapped then it will be tight in the drive you may have to use pliers
