Just completed 68,000 in my JTD and was wondering who's got the highest mileage on here? I put 160,000 on my last car ( Xantia 1.9TD) and Volvos can achieve mega mileages, so how do these stand up?

I'm almost 105k on my VW Polo. My old Ford Mondeo had 115k on it but I only did 400 miles in that before I got rid.

My grandads 1.2 Stilo has 61k currently.

Mine is just about to break thrugh 29,000, possibly by the end of next week, Its hard to think that when i picked the car up on May 29th this year, it only had 22,000 miles on it :D

mine is approaching 49k at the moment.

of which i put 44k on it!

my last car i had, a 1043i ibiza got sold with 70k odd on it, and i bought it with 28k on the clock.

I know someone who once had a G plate rover 216 up to 176k and i lad i went uni with had a mate who had an escort with 280k+ on it- and it was sh**.

69k ish will be on 70k by the end of the week!

My dads Pug 406 1.8 had 230k when the can belt snaped!

There is a Pug 505 (?) estate taxi round here with 999999, it will not go any higher! (I belive its had a new engine though)

Well my 52 plate JTD has just rolled onto 78000 miles, and I agree, maintainence is the key!

My old '96 Punto had just over 115000 miles when it died of a head gasket and timing belt failure, a sad day....

Hardly the highest but my 03 JTD had done 32k when I bought it June 06 (so average miles, has a FSH)...it went past 72k in Sept this year!

Engine still feels as good as the day I picked it up!

Just over 42000 Miles on the clock and the Conrod snapped, bursting a hole in the block.

I know it wasn't through over-revving, or through lack of oil.

My old '96 Punto had just over 115000 miles when it died of a head gasket and timing belt failure, a sad day....

My '97 55s is sitting at home with a broken clutch/flywheel/starter motor/all of the above....It finally gave up the ghost with 143K on the clock....

For a 1.1 that was driven very hard every day I think it did amazingly well...But now I'm sad and I can't bring myself to scrap it :(

I'm doing about 28,000 miles a year now and change my oil every 8,000 using 5w 40 fully synthetic. I always service it fully changing the coolant, brake fluid etc every 2 years. See no reason why it shouldn't go on and on:)
