Here you go! A pic taken of the Puntos cluster last night, after I broke the magic 140,000mile barrier. I remember seeing it on 139,999miles for a while and didnt see it change, was concerned that the dopey Italian computer was only programmed to that level as they never expected it to get that high
My secret to high mileage and a fully functional car? Nothing to do with servicing in all honesty. I get the oil changed perhaps once a year regardless of my mileage. Only had coolant changed when Cambelt and water pump were done. Never had it done at any other service.
The car has 6 gears and although nippy around town, I find just getting it up to temp on a decent motorway run with lots of miles is soooo much better than city traffic! I think that blowing the cobwebs out of it is the secret to its long lasting success!
Spark plugs, HT leads? Dont change them if they are working. Whats the point? They convery electricity and if they're working, why chance a new set, which could be faulty. This has happened in the past. I replace only when the car shows a missfire sign. Something it hasnt done in 2 years!
