Hi all, I’m a total newbie and I stumbled across this forum through google and I’m glad I did.

I’m looking for some help please regards the OBD on the new Fiat Ducato.

First of all the OBD located in the small panel o the drivers side isn’t like any I’ve seen before, instead of being the usual black oblongish shape, it’s thin and yellow. I thought it was a cover at first but no. Can someone tell me what this type of OBD is called ?

Secondly can anyone recommend a good OBD reader that will connect up, communicate and delete errors etc, ideally able to perform DPF regeneration too.

The vehicle is 2020 registered by the way, but I’m not sure what year it was actually produced as it’s a motorhome, so could have been in the converters stock for a while.

Thanks in advance guys.

That’s what I thought at first, but it doesn’t look like the yellow part removes to reveal a regular obd port

Hi

Are you sure this isn't just an ordinary 16 pin EOBD connector but with a yellow coloured plastic centre to make it more visible ?

Several people on this forum have recommended MultiECUscan

I don’t suppose you have a link to,the scanner that works do you? I’ve spoken with Aucel and they say they don’t do one for anything this new. I’d have thought it would have been pretty standard?

I don’t mind paying for a decent scanner over a cheap eBay special so long as it works.

I don't think there is anything new with the 2020 model...
The OBD2 port has a yellow middle section and a black outer section just like Anthony mentioned. Maybe you didn't see it because it was dark or something? Can you take a picture of it?

For the scanner side, Multiecuscan is just a software that is usualy combined with a separate OBD2 reader like a good ELM327 clone. If you want decent stuff I recommend OBDLink LX Bluetooth scanner with a genuine Multiecuscan or AlfaOBD software. Both can do advanced stuff like DPF Regens or other modules like Airbag and ABS.

Superb thanks, I’ve tried to upload a pic but it keeps bouncing back from the iPad for some reason.
The yellow centre cap sounds about right, i was looking at it in poor light so I’ll take another look tomorrow.

Do you have a link to the scanner you mentioned please. I don’t mind paying a few hundred quid if need be, especially if it does DPF regeneration too.
