Technical Help needed Fuel filter wayer sensor

Hi guys I'm in need of some advice please.
I have a ducato 2.3l multijet 130 2013.
Just changed the fuel filter and new aftermarket water sensor.
Now I have a message on the dash saying check fuel filter.....
Is this because it's an aftermarket water sensor?
Have you guys had this problem..

Probably, a scan would confirm.

Was it a very cheap one? The genuine Fiat ones are ridiculously priced.
