Looking at buying a 2015 Ducato 2.3jtd maxi Lwb minibus to convert to a campervan

15k miles on the clock
Selling for just under £13k

Is it Overpriced?

Should it have had 2 timing belt changes due to its age?

Anything I should be looking out for?

How come it's only done 1K miles per year ??????
That's what is instantly standing out to me as a 'Whaaaat?'
If you have the reg, stick it into https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/

and check the mileage over the years..... the rate of how it increased

It belonged to a charity, the Mot records online match the mileage (one year it was only driven 800 miles!)

We’ve been to see it today. The dealer selling it says he doesn’t have the service history but will try and get it (what a surprise) so I can only presume it’s not had a timing belt change

It should have had at least one TB

(Ultra) low miles can be (read are) more detrimental than 'normal' miles (it's certainly not a selling point at this level) , you don't know the average journey time , it could have been used every other day and not got to temperature any day ! I bet it's had one or two batteries lol
So with no service history you've got to factor in is the exhaust ok, brakes?... battery , the engine itself etc etc the list goes on.

Personally I'd go in low ... you can always come up , but you're gonna struggle offering less once you've offered

10/11K at the most imho

Does it look good? Is the engine running ok? Have you taken it for a spin?
Everything does not have to be just how people expect it to be.
Maybe is a good car and was put aside for you. Take it for a ride, see if it feels good, if you like it...
