I have to replace a headlight (O/S) because its out of adjustment and the adjuster has mysteriously gone AWOL. I have never used it so it could have been broken for years. ECP show two types lights at vastly different prices. 8w and 14w connectors. Dees anyone know what this is about. S4P are out of stock though expecting delivery in days. There are Aabkus lights madie in Poland for a lot less cost but My concern is cheap lenses may chip crack spilit and go hazy very quickly.

Any comments / suggestions would be welcome.

There's quite a few different lights, LHD, RHD, japan, with or without adjustet

Then several modifications of each

Upto 15/4/2006
Upto 25/7/2009 14 way
From 26/7/2009 8 way

I don't know how transferable they are

I suspect the pre and post 2009 will not swap easily

Info from here

Thanks all. This 2011. When looking on s4p they list the one for the car but its £146. ECP list these two wattage difference in the connectors. Other part places give just one and they are available at around £50.. A headlight with a substandard lens will go off quickly so would be afalse economy, I have a call out to Norfol salvage to see if they have any in but none showing. Ill probaly bite the bullet and just go s3P as I know it will be OK (Magneti Marelli part) at half ECP price!

It's not how I read it

The bulbs appear to be internally wired differently

Without two units in front of me I have no idea whether they fit or can be converted

8W = 8 way not wattage

You can definitely cut-and-paste the loom connectors, certainly from purple (2010 car) to yellow (2004 light units), so can't see why other way won't work.
Did a budget repair on s 2010 Eco that my son stuffed into the back of an SUV, and I only had old type lights, and one of the purple connectors was smashed.
Working out the pins was a bit of a faff, but I was doing it outside in the rain on a cold day.

Good info, always best when someone has already tied and succeeded 👍

The black adjuster is snapped off and gone. The wheel arch mounting was also snapped off and the light had been scewed down hard to compensate, The lens is also starting to pee off. So now I have a R/H headlight with working motor and a lens that could be reused. Its a purple connector. If anyone is in need of these bits and could use it its available for the postage cost. I think on balance its not repairable. New Magneti Marelli OEM light is installed and working its clearly the same make as the original. The orange bulb was also no good either as the orange had virtually all crazed and quite a lot fallen off. I need some orange bulb paint.
You can but Polish headlamps for around £60 and I expect they would be well made too but I dont want the lens going cloudy prematurely so decided in OEM maker so the quality is a known,
