Is £600 for genuine brand new set of 4 Abarth white alloy wheels and 205/40 ZR17 84W Michelin tyres a fair price? How much harsher would the ride be compared to standard 16 inch ones? Advice appreciated...

I'd have thought the tyres alone would cost close to that, if bought new:

My ones had new p zero nero tyres.

Are these wheels for your white Grand Punto Abarth ?
If so - the standard wheels are 215/45 x 17 and IIRC the PCB is 4x100. Those alloys you have referred to sound like wheels from the A500 which have a PCB of 4x98 which may not fit. You can get PCB 4x100 wheels to fit the hub of a 4x98 hub with wobble bolts - I am not too sure if you can do it the 'other way around'.
Also depending on which particular model of Michelin tyre it has IMHO there are a better tyre than the Pirelli Pzero. The Michelin are fitted as standard on the Esseesse wheel and grip better and would be viewed to be a top premium tyre. In the GPA esseesse they would normally be 18 inch in size.
Sorry for the bump, but found a good set of steelies not too far from me. I'm quite sure it will fit my Punto Abarth, but there is some wheel-speak which sounds like gobbledygook to me (spigots and centre bores...) I need someone with the knowledge (Maxi, Grimwau or Michael spring to mind) to tell me if it will fit. Before you ask, I did try the search but not quite sure what I'm searching for
Many thanks

Thanks Michael. I've checked the manual and it does not mention 16inch wheels at all! It only mentions 17s (215/45 R17 91Y - with ET39 and 205/45 R17 88V - with ET36) I guess that means it will not take 16s... Still in dark tho... This winter tyre business is downright complicated! I might just leave it for next year...
Just Make sure the 16" steelies will fit the Abarth, i know that the 15" steelies will not clear the brake callipers on the standard GP sportings.......
Also does the GPA handbook list a winter tyre spec if you go outside that you will have to jump through hoops with the insurance company
