General Too good to be true

Probably my 2nd ever post in here

Ive just seen an ad for a 2020 500

1.0 hybrid..less than 6,000 miles

Sub £8k seemed too cheap..
Should be a popular seller nowadays

What do you reckon?

Two well known adages come to mind:

"if it seems too good to be true, it probably is"

and

"if it's abnormally cheap, it's abnormally cheap for a reason".

That said, it could also be a genuine bargain. If someone needed to dispose of such a car and it wasn't appropriate to p/x it, they'd be unlikely to get that much from the trade. It's at an awkward age and price point to sell privately, and unless it's been serviced at the right time, it won't have any warranty. Objectively that may be the best price they can get.

Just exercise all the usual caution, and look closely at the motives of the seller. This could be anything from a genuine bereavement sale to a repaired accident damaged car that the owner has prudently decided to get rid of.

If it's being offered by the trade, personally I wouldn't waste my time looking; it'll almost certainly be a wrong'un.

You can get delivery mileage 500 mild hybrid for £10900, so a £8k with 6000 miles is probably not that far out as it looks at first.

As JRK says, be careful, though
