I stood on the scales this morning for the first time since before Christmas.

Oh dear...

No exercise and too much food over the holidays has not been good. Time to start behaving myself again

My names boydie and I'm a fat-o-holic.

It's been 10 mins since I've last eaten I try and be good but I always end up falling back onto the ( icecream van) wagon.

Back up to 93kg :( Cmbination of nothing to do for weeks and quite good food on the rig, the gym is out of order at the mo as it hangs off the underside of the rig and the arse is hanging off it lol, so its been condemned by safety haha

Trip to the docs on Tuesday to see about sorting out this ankle injury. Hopefully I'll get back to exercising soon but in the mean time I don't dare step on to the scales :(

^^^ Turns out I have something called sinus tarsi syndrome. Essentially there's inflammation in the area that the arrow is pointing to which is pushing my fibula out of place.

I have a physio appointment on Wednesday for it to be assessed but I'm hoping it can be sorted with heavy duty anti-inflammatories and rehabilitation exercises. In the mean time a wee bit of googling has lead me to wobble boards for helping with ankle injuries. I'm really, really tempted but also more than a tad worried I'd get home from the pub a wee bit worse for wear and think it a good idea to have a shot

Thats the injury that footballers get.... iirc beckham was one of the higher profile lads to suffer from it

Oh bloody hell not another football injury. When I broke my foot it was the fifth metatarsal that snapped which is apparently what all the footballers break.

I don't even watch football never mind play it lol

Hope you get fixed up by the doc Harper.

I'm going all out to get fit this year. Joined and going to the gym, signed up to do total warrior in August and will be signing up to do the Cumbrian run in October too. Here's to a fit year :)

Cheers Rich.

Had a wee google of the total warrior thing and it sounds brutal. We have something similar up here called the Ythan Challenge and there's no way in hell I'd take part

Good luck with it

Physio has given me stretching and strengthening exercises and banned me from walking too far and wearing high heels. Back a week on Monday for a follow-up

I'm determined to do the exercises but my resolve usually falters after a few days so we'll see

9.5 stone..... cant remember ever being as light as that lol
When I was in college I was 11st iirc

aye we're doing the 10mile challenge on the sunday, same 6miles (10k) as the saturday but an extra 4miles of countryside trails :)

started weighing myself 2wks ago again, have lost 6lbs already. in the last 3wks av done 1400m, 1600m & 2000m in the pool within an hour, on top of a bit of other cardio in the gym.

Quick update, physio check-up went well yesterday so he's upped the exercises. Unfortunately this now means the dreaded standing on one leg with your eyes shut which I can barely do with the good ankle never mind the knackered one. If you've never tried it before do so now and count how many seconds you can remain upright - hint you may want to have something solid to grab onto to steady yourself :D

Oh and note to self, don't try it at work when there's others around as they'll only laugh at you falling over [attachment=1:1arhoywv]redface.gif[/attachment:1arhoywv]
