It's caused a bit of a stir hasn't it :(

I'm sorry I used the wrong terminology to begin with, I said puddle merely because with me being on a peninsula, floods aren't as commonplace with heavy rain as they are inland. So a flooded road it was that's one error of mine. Also yeah it was of course a huge error on my part by attempting to drive through the water, I honestly didn't think. But then again, there are strong arguments for either side of this debate. You should be able to trust in the design of any aftermarket mods you get for your car. On the flipside I should have taken a bit more responsibility as I know how low down the filter is

Never the less when you try to get your point over and speak the truth they cover his back ..for a man I took into my home and treated like one of the family it beggars belief he has the audacity to come on here and accuse me of lieing..I have made many friends on here that know full well I have spoken the truth and not made up a pack of lies as he has said so..god help anyone who deals with the man in the future..

Any news on your car? Sorry to hear about the water getting into the engine, sucks :(

They won't be having a proper look until next week. Once they have the head off they will be able to see what kind of damage has been caused. Likely the whole lump will have to come out and be stripped though eh

I hope i wasn't responsible for that 'stir'.. :p

My only reason for arguing is to try and stop this happenning to other members.

I think realistically it sounds like this GSR kit could benefit from a bit of a re-design to minimise the likelihood of water ingestion.

I'll be more than glad if it helps others avoid the same fate :)

phil we all know that anybody else who makes OT comments and stuff regarding other members gets warned and eventually banned if they carry on

quit while your ahead.

well for now, in my absence, a bunch of threads have been closed, moved or deleted. and so far no infractions handed out.

i'm more than happy to give the users in here a massive amount of latitude on their posts, but it's getting harder to justify when a stream of reports come backstage, and a the mod group sees what appeared to be a pretty good section degenerating into chaos, squabbling and general slanging

pete, phil, i fully understand there are issues between you two, but this here is not the place for it, for now, and i've just walked in the door after a rough day, it appears peace has broken out, however fragile, based on what i've read so far, i'll take it. and long may it continue

there will be discussion backstage, no doubt, on future courses of action, i had always hoped that lively and robust debate would be a strong feature of new pandas, and not what we have had of late, if this means a more hands on approach to moderating, one that a lazy so and so like me is opposed to, then so be it.

from what i can gather of this thread, you have had engine enter the engine? how deep was the water your went into...... 3 foot???

To me this sounds like nearly whole new engine & possible new ecu if it fried from thinking too hard.

Sorry to read this bad news. Also very sorry you have to drive a vectra!!!

Let us know how you get on.

It was less than a foot I think, but obviously enough for the GSR to take a sip from :yuck:

same as here, this road is not to far from where i grew up, it goes to an island and floods at high tide. i seen loads of cars die here and they only going slow to

you can even watch them die on the net now

I know, it wasn't at any speed though, just for the record I was crawling through it as anyone would.

I've did over a foot deep in the old Punto....Not sure I'd want to try it in the Panda though....

And slow crawling does stop the bow wave....Hence these people that plough through and end up submerged....:D
