Re: First to second gear

But it still needs a 15km oil change in between the major services doesn't it?
So therefore you'd still have to visit the dealer every 15k...?

I'm not sure the lady will know too much about what's involved in the services but I might send another email just to clarify things. Like I said those costs almost scared me away

it needs no oil change.
30k intervals.
i have a guy with 2 1.3JTD Gp's that he uses as courier vans, does 60-70k per year and loves them. i see him twice a year

Re: First to second gear

just ask the dealer what they do on a 60k service, try and get a rough break down of it....let me know

I'll put up a list later when I get home tonight.

it needs no oil change.
30k intervals.

Are you sure? I remember seeing a space for a 15 000km oil/oil filter change stamp in the service manual..

Re: First to second gear

Actually those intervals could be right - I forgot you were talking about diesels.. let me check the book again and get back to you :)

Re: First to second gear

i really dont understand why the kiwi and the Oz car would be different......
:bang:

I don't either, you're pretty much just another Tasmania anyway ;)

You see if it was $525 for 30k, then I would be content with the price. This is the first car I've ever seen in Australia with a 20k service interval, they are ALL usually every 10 or 15k.

Can I ask how on earth the car can go without an oil change for 30,000km? Isn't it bad for the car to run on old oil?

Re: First to second gear

I'll send her another email and see what happens.

I'm stating the bleeding obvious, but try not to belittle/make her look silly in your email; iirc there aren't that many dealers in your area so you would want to keep the relationship as healthy as possible (y)

Email sent. Yes I took that into consideration Kev. Don't worry I wasn't nasty or anything, just stating what I know. When I was at the dealer a few weeks ago, I kind of made out that I wasn't in a hurry and needed to be convinced the Punto was the right car for me.

If she really wants to make a deal then I'm sure she'd be happy to answer my questions, after all the money will be coming out of my pocket ;)

Re: First to second gear

Kev I kinda forgot where we were with tis problem of your & cant be bothered to read back through 185 pages;) .....sum it up mate in a paragraph if you will:) (got some new info you see;) )

Re: First to second gear

Well you should rename it to something to do with us Oz/NZ people, there ain't many of us around. It's just really convenient having all the information relevant to us in the same thread.

I think it is well worth it's weight in helpfulness not to mention educational on the wildlife of this country :p :)

Car is six months old. After leaving it cold for 3+ days, car with Dualogic (in both auto and manual modes) jerks violently when moving off from standstill in first to second gear. Problem goes away after 20 - 30 minutes of driving. Various 'fixes' had been applied (e.g. gearbox recalibration, brake switch adjustment etc), but none have worked. Rang both salesman and service department just then, and no info on the technician that supposedly went to a Dualogic training session last week. Have requested salesman to chase up. If still nothing in a few day's time will lodge formal complaint to Fiat AU/Ateco and DEMAND a new gearbox.

Re: First to second gear

while this has all been going on i have had 3-4 customers breaking down with D/L problems.
We hjave found that the chassis rail earth wires havent been earthing properly and it's causing faults through-out the gearbox.
Once we have cleaned up the earth and bled the clutch they have gone out and been fine. this has only happened in the last week too. odd!

T do you think this might be a fault occuring on LuvDuvs car?

Re: First to second gear

just wondered if maybe the connection was there then not there then there.... long shot but racking my brain trying to think what it could be!

from what Kev's said they have done the standard fixes, bleeding the clutch, re-loading/updating the software etc etc.
Have they had a auto electrician check the wiring system maybe?
