Re: First to second gear

This Dualogic situation is getting beyond ridiculous now, I agree with fiatdownunder if they can't fix the gearbox then a new one should be issued. Something is seriously wrong with it that is obviously beyond their capabilities to repair.

I had a strong feeling the juddering wouldn't go away that easily...

Re: First to second gear

edited the final part

Too late, hit the Send button already. Probably best not to threaten him with legal at first, in case it is the first time he's heard of this (see below) and I don't want to put tension on the relationship. Nonetheless I do appreciate your help with the editing (y)

This Dualogic situation is getting beyond ridiculous now

:yeahthat:

Ok, some rather interesting developments. Shortly after the email was sent, the salesman called me (shock, horror!!) and said he wasn't aware I was having strings of problems. He mentioned that one of the technicians will be attending a training course focused on the Dualogic some time next week and suggested that I give him a go to see if he can help out. So, now have to wait till next week or so when the technician's finished the course, then book the car in for one last time. If it still can't be fixed, the salesman suggested I lodge a formal complaint to Fiat AU/Ateco, where I will be demanding either a fault-free replacement, or my money back. If they even suggest they won't, then its going to get legal.

So collected the car later today, and had a chat with him in person, which was basically a reiteration of what was discussed on the phone. He's probably not a very good salesman in the sense that he talks far more than he listens (and he uses the f word at least once in every sentence, though in a 'friendly' way), but nonetheless he is excellent in the sense that instead of fighting against the customer, he stood where I was standing and saw things from my perspective. He agreed that it was unacceptable to have paid good money and in return receive a crap/unfit product, and that this is a warranty-covered issue, which I should use at my disposal.

Well at least this time I drove out of there with some sort of hope that it will be fixed (not much hope though), or at least be compensated for it.

Btw the damaged paintwork has been patched up - they used touch up paint to hide the missing chunk and covered up the raw bit. Couldn't really see if the colours matched cos it was dark when I picked it up, but its no longer noticeable so its now case-closed.

And the fuse box cover (I think that's what it is) was missing as I was about to drive away - got them to pop it back in

For me I don't mind, but I'm sure some customers would find it offensive..

Btw is there a way to stop the reverse clanking? It did it again just then and the sound it makes is worrying..

Interesting stuff, keep hangin' in there Kev!!

Man I feel like an AU guinea pig!

Forgot to mention yesterday, the dealer has never heard of the Dualogic problem until I came along. There might have been other cases, but he's not aware of it because apparently there's no communication between Sales and Service. So if I have a faulty one whilst everyone else has a fault-free one, then that makes my case for replacement even stronger.

I've had one fault with Dualogic, but that was a very minor thing with the earth wire not earthing correctly. took 3 weeks to find the fault but they did!
as for not communicating between depts, that's there problem not yours! tell them to pull there finger out!

the reverse thing, there is onyl one way to get rid of it, turn the radio up! haha (y) seriously though it is just the linkage changing, if you drop the window on a manual you will here it do the same thing

I guess its normal in the sense that I've heard other cars make that noise, but surely something can be done about it?

And I think I've worked out why I've been having problems with the Dualogic - they gave me a Duralogic!

Re: First to second gear

Hahaha!! I love reading stupid spelling mistakes, that really does sum up that dealer's knowledge of your gearbox doesn't it? :p

Maybe they got confused with Ford's "Duratec" engines...;)

Yes it is somewhat embarassing, especially when its from the dealer I bought it from :D

(There was another ad for it in the same section and it had the correct spelling..)

Re: First to second gear

Publishers make the spelling mistakes not the dealer...probably got another free advert or discount because of that.

Yeh yeh I know mate, just poking a bit of fun at them since it was the dealer I bought it from :D
