Technical Fiat Stilo no compression 0 psi in cylinder number 2

Friends,

Why in only number two cylinder no compression 0 psi [emoji17]
All other cylinders have 170 psi.
What is the reason for this?
The ecu detects of course misfire in cylinder N. 2

Can anyone please advise me.

Forgot to say, that also there is a lot of oil in cylinder 2...

Hi

Squirt a little engine oil down the bore

Test again

If it improves its a piston ring to bore issue..

If it remains at 0

Major leak fetected.. holed piston..stuck valve


Has it been losing coolant ?

Is the sparkplug looking different to the others..?

I have not noticed yet any loss of coolant.


The spark plug of cylinder 2 was filled with oil.
The others are as usual.

I will try mat tomorrow to put oil in cylinder 2.

Can be that head gasket gone??? [emoji848]

The adding of oil..for a test on an engine that is just 'tired'..would help worn piston tings seal better (for a minute..)

You having oil on the plug and registering Zero compression would be more likely a damaged piston

A USB endoscope @€15..could save stripping the engine checking where the oil is entering the upper cylinder

But realistically the engine would be scrap

I did as you said with endoscope, I could not recognize anything, but anyway what I have noticed, that the piston hits the spark plug in cylinder 2.
I changed the plug (its long is 100% right) but piston hits it again.
Here are Fotos....

Hello,

Sorry to give you bad news ,

You need a replacement engine .

Your current engine has suffered a serious mechanical failure.

The piston number 2 is now moving up the cylinder bore far higher than normal.
My guess is a conrod bearing failure or conrod failure

Yes..as I feared.. something inside the motor has failed ..BAD NEWS

Not really worth stripping for inspection..
Certainly not worth repairing

The motor should be relatively cheap to replace..so fitting a whole engine.. if your car is good enough to worry

You haven't said what, year, model, mileage, condition etc it is, but unless it was immaculate or had some special sentimental value to you, it sounds like its now only fit for the scrap yard.
